few pics with the two new Stalingrad winter troops. I have to say these are stunning figures and got them along with some other FL sets that as yet I have not looked at as these were the ones I wanted to see. The detail is stunning and this is how winter troops should be done IMO. Only issue I have is the scratch marks on the helmet. I would have thought and said when the promo's were released that to do a figure to this high standard and not properly whitewash the helmet was an issue.

Probably the best two winter figures I have in my collection and look forward to more including the Pak due soon

Hey Mitch, I also picked up both of these First Legion Winter Stalingrad figures as well....I must say that they are really well done....There have not been many FL German Winter Stalingrad releases recently but I'll take quality over quantity any day:wink2:^&grin.......FIRST LEGION: Does it RIGHT:salute::....Good things come to those who wait.:wink2:....Hopefully we will see more FL Winter Stalingrad Germans very soon.

With the PAK gun and crew coming soon the slow and steady is suiting me fine

What a great landscape {sm3} The figures are nice, even if I prefer my KC bulge germans .
But the landscape you made is really realistic, the colours are so real, not artificial {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

Excellent figures from FL and very very nice ground work..... I like it.

**** fine figures and presented very nicely, love the slit trenches :salute::. thanks for sharing regards Gebhard

Thanks for the comments. Now, I mentioned that I was not personally a fan of the helmet and the scratch lines we see added for weathering on some of the cheaper and faster made miniatures so, (not wanting Gebhard's head to explode as I know he does not approve of these touch up's) I have already repainted the helmet and weathered it in a more appropriate way to depict white wash fading with use.

I think, there is a huge difference in the before standard factory paint and the repaint

Hi Mitch,
No offence but I collect First Legion not Mitch's Miniatures :wink2:. I do however think you did a fine job re-creating a Stahlhelm that was whitewashed and well worn but as you know necessity is the mother of invention and there was more then one medium used to attain the desired result (Winter Camo ). I guess I can no longer reference your whitewashed efforts as putting lipstick on a pig {sm4}. Gebhard

''Mitch miniatures'' got a nice ring to it. I could start a company and create ''historically inaccurate miniatures'' My morning cuppa is now all over the screen ''lipstick on a pig''LOL

Thanks for the comments Hopefully, FL may just weather the hats differently to other companies in future apart from that the figures are superb

Awesome dio and indeed, love the whitewash you did on the helmet (and I agree with you on that detail).

I liked this dio the first time I saw it and think it looks great combined with the new FL winter Germans. Those figures are next on my list.
