The first Ludhiana Sikhs arrived today and are greeted by Officers of several other Regiments.
I do like these new "Sons of the Empire" figures very much.
Good job, K&C

Thanks for that Konrad, they look good on display and supplemented by the club figures all taking shape to a great collection. Cheers, Robin.

The new figures look really great. Very colorful. Nice get. -- Al

Good thread, I really like this series ever since I photographes Louis collection with the old glossies for the vol3 book. These latest are superb. Interesting that they can be ordered matt or gloss.

Shame about the price though - ouch.

They add some much needed colour to my collection which is mostly WWII. And with the large variety of regimental and native uniforms, there should be plenty of choice. I normally collect only fighting poses, but for SOE really prefer the parade poses

With the new fighting Sikhs, does anyone think there will be opposition produced? If so, what kind?

Saw one of the glossy Sikhs in person at the Valley Forge Show today. They are really well done, even better in person.^&cool^&cool

With the mentioning of Khyber Pass and Afghanistan, I am sure we will get some Afghan tribesmen and troops at some point to attack the "Sons of the Empire".
Sure hope so :wink2:

I was at Valley Forge today
and saw the Sikhs in gloss
I'm buying the matte ones to go with my skinners
To me it don't look right the glossy ones
It's like taking a KC figure or FL figure and giving it a glossy coat
Too much details for a glossy figure.
It's like having glossy miniatures or glossy connaisseur figure
I'm buying them all in matte finish, to me it looks better
This is only my opinion and my choice.
U like them glossy, U GO BOY
I saw Louis by Hobby Bunker's train and wagons
I admit they look pretty good, nice set-up
Bought some FL AWI from George and a few Monarch set
from Ted and a few CS Berlin 38. Very nice show.

For me it's also a matter of scale. A figure in the 60mm K&C scale does not look right to me in gloss. Probably due to the long history of gloss figures, they have to be in the 54mm scale, at least for me that is.

I have to agree with you Konrad. How do these compare with the William Britain Durbar figures?

Hi Jeff,
good to see you back again and am glad to hear that you will be collecting the Sons of the Empire too.
The flagbearer and the mounted British Officer are on my list for the end of may or maybe june.
Welcome back :wink2: ^&grin
