I am one who is very interested in the war in the Pacific and island regions. Are there others out there that would like to see more Jap soldiers made for any pacific theater at anytime in the future. This has been brought up time and time again especially from me. But I have the Pacific American marines and no guys to fight them.So guys any battles you would like to see be made in the Pacific .I myself am a huge fan of New Guinea with both Australian and American forces.Simmo.;)

Im with you Simmo some Aussies and Yanks fighting some Japs would be great Kokoda would be good some fuzzy wuzzy,s mate would be a great line.

Hi,K&C 8TH Army works in the Pacific in such campaigns as Malaysia.I would like to see K&C re-release some of the Pacific items but I don't see that happening soon.In the meantime, Figarti makes a good line of Japanese soldiers that works with K&C.

Hey Simmo,I'd sign up for Jungle Brits,Aussies fighting the Japenese, this would be a different and exciting range, would make for some great dio's too.

The Burma theater would be great also. You wait until the mini series Pacific is broadcast you will be seeing a lot more requests. One question I would like to ask is did British or Australian army or marine (did Australia have marines?) forces fight in the island campaigns?

Don't forget that Andy already DID two series of Japanese soldiers - as part of the Iwo Jima range. One series was from the early Iwo stuff and more Japanese were run when the Iwo series was updated. With the Japanese lousy supply system and the way they equipped their army, there are few variations in uniforms and equipment between the guys who took Manila in 1942 and the guys who defended Manila three years later. One can't say the same for the Allies. So there are K&C Japanese troops out there.

Series for Kokoda and Tarawa would be welcomed. Would also like to see early gyrenes for Guadalcanal (with opponents) and Burma. Lots to be done. Would love to see a Zero 21 done in early war gray for China or Pearl Harbor, with the appropriate pilots and deck or ground crew. -- lancer

I'm up for some Japanese and Aussies, and on the plus side you could use the 1920's sailors and new USMC for defense of Bataan against japanese figures.:)

Best Regards,
Vick

The Pacific land war doesn't have the variety of the European/North Afrika/ Italy/ Eastern Front AFVs and troops. It would be nice to have a few more jap tank and gun models and even a truck, but there just aren't that many models to make. The theatre works more for aircraft and ship models.

I don't think there were any Marines on Bataan so the emblems on the unis would have to be removed, but the figures would sure fit. -- lancer

I've never been a stickler for complete historical accuracy, just looking to make a few vignettes with about 5-10 figures.

There were few Marines on Bataan, a couple small commo detachments, however the 4th Marine Regiment that had been in Shaghai before the outbreak of the war had been moved from China to the Phillipines. They formed part of the garrison of Corregidor until its final surrender in May, 1942.

Andy addressed the Pacific Theatre, when he visited Sierra Toy Soldier Last September, He said that sales was dissapointing. Even with the releases of the Movie Flag of our Fathers, And Letters from Iwo Jima. Sales wise it did not go well. Hopefully, With the release of " The Pacific", by HBO in March.
Andy will Change his mind, And do more. In the PTO side of the War.

Couldn't agree more, this would be an excellent series to recreate Kokoda, Imphal, Meiktila, Mandalay, etc, etc; we don't need anymore Marines, two series worth is enough, would be nice to focus on other combatants.............

I said it before and I'll say it again - his sales were disappointing because his Japanese in defensive poses were disappointing. try harder next time. There's people out there who seem to want to spend money on Pacific theater figures...Make them and the money will follow....

As always George, You have set up a very impressive scene. Are those Airfix 1/72nd or some other figures? Nice scenic base.

Good to know, Gary. I was unaware of USMC units in the PI. 4th Regt. makes sense but I never knew that they went to the PI at that point in the war. Thanks for the info. -- lancer
