General Robert E. Lee and Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant meet before the formal surrender of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia to the Union Army. This was their first meeting since their service in the Mexican War. Grant recalled:

"I had known General Lee in the old army, and had served with him in the Mexican War; but did not suppose, owing to the difference in our age and rank, that he would remember me; while I would more naturally remember him distinctly, because he was the chief of staff of General Scott in the Mexican War."

Nicely done, Brad. I am still amazed how well the H&A grass base holds up over the years and all the new developments.

As today is April 9, the 150th anniversary of the date of the surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia to the Union Army, I thought I'd bring this up again for those who may have missed it.

I did miss this one first time around. Thanks for the bump Brad. Very well done. Chris

Thanks for sharing your dio. A very important day to remember today.
Cheers,
Brendan
