I took a photo of our current aircrew figures to share with you. I grew up with “Twelve O’clock High” on the TV and looked forward to each episode. Many of the neighbors in my neighborhood and extended family members were in the Army Air Corps, ranging from pilots, to navigators, gunners and ground crew. I am looking forward to the new mini series and have my fingers crossed that the flying sequences does not look like a video game. In my opinion “The Battle of Britain” is still the gold standard to watch massed vintage aircraft moving through the air…but perhaps I will be surprised.

It's like you read my mind. Started streaming the old Twelve O'clock High series a couple of weeks ago, and then started planning a setup just as you have presented.- I have to say, It looks really good. :smile2:

The best is the Gregory Peck movie Twelve O’clock High…even Ericka likes it!

Fantastic pic! I’m glad W. Britains has made these proper 1/30 scale USAAF pilots and air crew figures (along with the Tuskegee pilot and the WASP pilot figure as well). It would be great to get some mechanics eventually, since the planes technically belonged to them… I’d also love to see more RAF and Luftwaffe figures as well!

Thanks, I am glad you liked the photo. These are all good suggestions and we have been working on additions to this Aviators section of the Museum Collection between all of the other projects. The fellow that lived behind me while growing up was an 8th Air Force mechanic that worked at Ford Motor Company after the war. The fellow that lived behind him was a former B17 Co-pilot that survived two forced landings, and the man across the street had been a navigator. My best friends step-father was a ball turret gunner in a B24 that survived a wheels up landing in the Pacific while trapped in the turret…amazing story there!
