Yep, Mike caught that one. We see many dios of soldiers fighitng it out but not to many civilians, be it British, German, Chineese, Japanese or dozens of other nationalities who suffered just as much ... (if not more) .. then the combatents.

Millions effected and with bombing of towns and cities the local populace surely did suffer.

My Mother will still reminisce about the war years on occasion.
even small towns like Guildford had a few bombs dropped, school, train strafed.
But German civilians certainly suffered heavily.
