Thanks for that update Harrie. Interesting that someone on the other side of the globe is interested in ANZAC.

To me the Sailors were the more interesting topic.

However, I was disappointed to see that the sailors were facing the wrong way in both of the lifeboats. For those of you who don't know anything about boat handling; the rowers sit facing aft in a "pulling boat" So when you set up your display please don't follow the example in these pictures. [nice, very useful figures though!]

I was also hoping for a "proper" Royal Navy Steam Launch, and I suspect that many more collectors were of similar mind. Andy, we continue to live in hope.

Lovely representation of Simpson and his donkey. This addition now makes it three (3) choices of manufacturer. I'm sorry, I can't afford all three!

As a "Toy Sailor" collector, as soon as I finish my morning chore of reading Treefrog, I will order all of the Sailor figures from my local dealer. The challange is now to find a good model of a "Whaler" and/or a "Cutter" to put them in. Anyone got any ideas?

"Carry on!"

Yep, another big hit to the wallet, expecting these in the December releases, a late Christmas present^&grin, Robin.

After visiting the stunning WW1 & Gallipoli displays by Peter Jackson and Weta workshops down in Wellington a few weeks back, I have developed an even bigger interest in the ANZAC's, especially at Gallipoli.

Hard to believe, but to date I only have 3x WW1 Kiwi's thus far, however seeing this lastest offering from K&C makes it hard to resist not grabbing a few to create a small trench dio of my own.

Of course I'm also holding out for the NZ Mounted Rifles which I understand are still in the pipe line Andy?!^&grin

Dear Colleagues,

It has taken me a bit long, but I have now found references to a "proper" Royal Navy Steam Launch (Pinnace) to illustrate one of my points above.

50 foot Admiralty Steam Pinnace Nr 199, which was originally built in 1911 at Cowes IOW, for the Royal Navy, is now a "living" exhibit of the National Historical Ships Organisation in the UK.

You can find out all about her, and view some great photos of her under restoration, and "under way", at: www.nationalhistoricalships.org.uk/register/40/199

yours aye!

Bob

PS: For some unknown reason I am unable to post a photo, clearly, I am not holding my mouth right!
