The Northman (1 Viewer)

They say that this is about historically accurate as possible.

I have seen this heavily advertised on tv...
it looks like something I would like...
I think it's theaters only...
is that correct?

Pretty sure I've seen this movie already, but it was called "Conan the Barbarian"................

The best bit about this movie was the preview for Bullet Train starring Brad Pitt. Looks fun. Luckily also saw a Top Gun preview as well.

Had to apologise to my wife for choosing this over Lost City with Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum and Brad Pitt.

If you like mystical witch doctor types and mumbo jumbo with a depressing story line with no humour then this movie is for you.

Nothing to recommend from me. If want to see it wait until it appears on a streaming service.

The last great Viking movie was 1958 The Vikings with Kirk Douglass and Tony Curtiss. :smile2: Chris

Excellent movie.

Love the immersion in the time period. Brutal, rugged, and pretty historically accurate. Great scenery and cinematography. The Berserker scene was excellent.

Lots of graphic violence, as should be for a modern take on Vikings.

It was a pretty visceral and shocking film at times. It did an excellent job of immersing you in the time period.

Solid A-/B+ grade from me.

Life in Viking times was very brutal.

So was this movie. I can watch almost anything Viking-related but this was awful. In some cases laughable. It tried to be both an action movie and some type of artsy European film and ended up a disaster.

I agree with Combat and Military Workshop.I was very disappointed in it.

Watched this on tv this past weekend with youngest son (he wanted to see it). Nothing remarkable about the movie to me, very average fare. Chris

"The Green Knight" is a good flick. A little bit of GOT flavor. Everything that Northman was not.
