Ever have a rifle bend or  break? I get to go to the extra parts I have cast and pull out some rifles. These three "recruits" were suffering from brokeriflitis. A little ex-rifle removal a little drilling and some CA glue. Then paint. Now these guys are ready to go back to the front. If they can find it. Glue fumes were a little like ether to them.:p

Thanks for the kind comments. Honestly anyone can do this. Which is why I post this stuff. I wish to encourage others to try their hand.

I seriously doubt anyone will think too hard about their handles. However if they hold the nail I will hammer it for them.:D

I have also discovered that there are some heads that are in some grman metal molds that will fit Mignot which I have several in for repair. Pictures to follow

That figure, I bought through the Toy Soldier Co. rekindled the whole thing... Or, rather, it put my painting in an entirely new direction. I bought a Union marching and that did it for me. I have a few. The whole operation went kaput from what I understand. Spillway still has some but they are last of a dying breed. I understand Disney was selling them at their park but for astronomical prices. Speaking of, I bought 8 Ron Wall at a toy soldier store that was going out of business at the Venetian Grand Canal Stores in Las Vegas about 5 years ago. There is another guy who's figures don't match what he's selling them for.

Yeah, I do not get the R W figures at all. But a lot of people like them. I paint a whole lot better than that guy. But that is just my opinion. So let us not get carried away. I will also state here and now that there are a great number of people who paint better than me and know a lot more than I do at this point. I am just having a lot of fun. Just for the record I really like the LeMans figures and for some reason I really like Warwick! Go figure.

I must have got lucky as I got 8 of RW's Custer figures at the Kane County show for $50.00, of course it didn't include Custer and a few of the others, but I finished the Cavalry set for another $60.00. The Custer figures are out of production, but I hear he wants $50.00 a figure for the Civil War guys.

Do you have any pictures? I have never seen any of the Custer series. * for $50 is a whole lot better:)

I just took some pictures, but I don't know how to post them, not that they are that good

Oops, I guess I figured it out. Those are the Ron Wall Custer figures.

On the Warwick...I got a catalog from him about 10 years ago. To this day, I still think it's the best catalog I've ever seen. He had all the sets he had at that time (and it was a lot...Romans through WW2) in diorama format. The best was a big CW battle...then on another page, there was a line drawing rendition of the batle. with outlined areas of what sets made up the battle. I have thought for a long time that Dutkins' could do better on a catalog if they were shown in a diorama and say "it takes LA-XXX and LA-YYY and LA-WWW, etc to make the scene shown."
