It was great to see K&C bring out the new ECW range - it has also on here and elsewhere received rave reviews. I would love to get hold of some of these but I already started on ECW with Heritage Miniatures and commissioned Alexanders Toy Soldiers to do some matte figures for me. I was so impressed that I have ordered a whole batch of Royalist Coldstream Guards from ATS. I guess I am going to have to stick to the smaller size figures - shame figures are not more standard in size in some respects.

Here is a glimpse of some of my ECW figures in action.

The KC range is very nice but I don't think your losing much with Heritage and ATS.Your collection looks very good.

Impressive! I love to see 17th, 18th, and 19th century figures in mass formations. I think the new K&C English Civil War series is great but I'm reluctant to start collecting it because I don't think I could afford all the soldiers required to recreate the feel of a civil war battle.
Cheers,
Brendan

Always look good on mass. Interesting the rider out of the saddle and on the horse rump. Robin.

ATS makes great figures and are significantly lower in price than K&C and other "matt" makers. If you are doing a larger diorama with "mass" formations budgeting is paramount.
ATS is also very flexible with both custom painting and sculpting.
You are absolutely right, however, that their scale would not work well with K&C.

I made them (Heritage) to a "chunky" 1/32nd scale, before the figure sizes started to creep up!:)

Thanks Martin,

Our figures (Empire Military Miniatures) should fit with them also then. That is good news.

Thanks,

Malcolm. ^&cool

Malcolm I figured your figures would be ok on size. So will order your
first ECW offerings
