Well Hogarth also made quite a bit of money painting pictures for personal subscription as well. Somehow I don't think those particular etchings are a suitable subject for this forum.

Nothing of the sort but this is a forum that minors also read and I don't think their parents would have care for that kind of image. Also, I'm not sure that kind of image would appeal to our female members.

I hope that clarifies why it was removed.

I thought that the picture in question had "aesthetic merit" and could be exempted , perhaps with a mild parental guidance warning

Now i understand .....................This was an application of the doctrine Preemptive Political Correctness -take action now because somebody might be offended. I just need to get my attitude adjusted - gut shot germans are OK, semi nude women are not.
