as a new collector like me i have seen only in this days the real improvements of the k&c product from the past......
i have received my ak19 panzer III who i think the much old vehicle in production too in entire actual line and i have discovered the difference in painting and sculpting by two years ago at today in particular way on the soldiers....anyway a great model but the new release are too much better

I agree that in the last few years the vehicles and figures have better quality and painting then previous years. I did not buy earlier releases but have been buying newer releases. What have I got into? World war ll Europe and Pacific and the outstanding Rev war stuff. Trying to resist Napoleonics. I still buy traditional figures also. John

Each new release seems to get better and better, but you just can't beat

a classic old piece or two in your display cabinet.

Njja:)

I agree with John.

I am actually downsizing my WWII collection but I am not ready to sell my WS37 and WS41. Two great sets.

Pierre.

When I sold my first King & Country item a WS14 I was quite happy to

get $90 which I used to purchase a WS68 Puma Armoured Car. To this day

I continue to sell older pieces to finance new additions to my King & Country

collection. While the older items bring more money nowadays Andy C's

production makes it difficult to keep up.

Pretty soon I'm going to have to shore up my den before it winds up in the

basement.

Pierre be careful what you sell, that Krupp Truck is really cool.

Njja

John, with the price I may ask for it, nobody will buy it (I'll take no chance; I'll say no price:) ).

BTW, the twelve Barbarians figures are awesome.

Pierre.

I just can't see parting with any pieces. Each piece has a story about how I got it and it's part of me, especiallly the older ones. No, I just can't see selling them.

Well each one of us has his own view. I have friends that have rooms piled

to the ceiling with boxes with narrow lanes to walk through. Some want one

of everything, some one each of a series.

My great revelation came when my daughter bought her first home. I asked

her what she would like from the den. She mentioned a few items, a Very

Few. Now every time I visit I bring her a few items but what on earth is going

to happen to the rest of this stuff??

So nowadays I downsize, if it can't be displayed it has to go.

I figure in another 100 years or so I should be down to a manageable size..

......wait there's the doorbell .....its the Fedex man.

Well here is one way to deal with a wife or girlfriend.....its called Hermes.

They make the most beautiful pleated scarves, sort of like a fine selection

of retired King & Country for us.

Njja:D

What a great thread guys,

Hermes? I get it Njja. In my case its payoff her car and do some major home renovations last year and its amazing how it removes all of my barriers to collecting. Heck, she even went to Chicago with me last year, LOL. Now that was expensive.

Zupp,

The boxes are hell! This collecting thing requiring the storage of a box and all of its packing material is for the birds! But there isn't much you can do but keep them if you have any inkling of selling them in the future, unless you don't mine receiving pennies on the dollar for your investment.

I guess this stuff isn't like being a kid collecting little green army men or baseball cards in the 50's, 60's and 70's. Too bad, it was more fun then when I didn't have to worry about earning a living.

Too recapture space the first thing I'll be selling on e-bay (some day) is my 1/35 collection which is extensive. Talk about getting pennies on the dollars, that where you really feel it regardless of quality of the item.

The second to go will be my duplicate Britains and Conte sets, but enough of my rants.

Keep collecting and having fun,

Carlos

hermes?
too much expensive.
another solution is change the girlfriend every six months......;) .

happy collecting (k&c) to all:D

And mine loves to cook! This weekend I enjoyed homemade Tomato Basil

Soup made with whipping cream, fresh basil, chicken stock, and fresh

chopped tomato's. Man-o-man was that just the best ever!

She is also a 1st class short order cook! Sometimes I think she has several

different items ready in the kitchen. She will give me my choice of items and

it seems as soon as I make my selection in it comes!

In 36 years I have yet to figure out how she does it!
