Hi Guys,

One of the many great things about this Forum is the opportunity to see and share our work with others and to view what others do with our figures and vehicles and how they incorporate them into their own dioramas and displays.

Guy’s most recent photos using some of our ‘Fields of Battle’ items inspired me to convert our little ‘Normandy’ scene into a 1940 ‘Dunkirk’ diorama.

As mentioned before a good diorama setting is very much like an old-time studio movie set... Change some obvious things like ‘wall-posters’... add a few assorted civilian refugees and then bring in your main ‘actors’ and ‘extras’ in the appropriate uniforms, equipment and vehicles of the period, in this case ‘May 1940’, and hey presto... a whole new scene and a completely different movie!

In the meantime, have a happy weekend and happy viewing,

Andy

Yes another really good job Andy. Have liked the civilian refugees scenes, so much so I have a permanent display using them. Robin.

Thankyou Robin, I enjoy trying to incorporate a few civvies into any appropriate scene whenever possible...Glad you're able to use them in your own displays.
All the best and have a great weekend!
Andy.

What a great diorama. Exactly like story my parents told me over and over again when they fled for the advancing Huns, and how badly they were treated by the French.

What ref is the guy on the right side of the wall with light blue shirt and braces?

Hello Guy,
The soldier in the light gray/blue shirt with braces is one of our Royal Engineer 'Sappers' from our Bomb Disposal Unit.
Best wishes,
Andy.

Great display Andy, the scene captures the misery and desperation of fleeing troops and civilians perfectly.

Reminds me of the opening scenes of the classic Battle of Britain movie.

Outstanding.

With the song, "Run Rabbit Run" in my ears, enjoying this scene Andy. I've always liked the civilians among the FoB collection, esp. the carts/wagons. Looking forward to future civilian figures.

This is top notch stuff! Keep them coming.

Many thanks to yourself and ‘Toddy’ (Desert Kiwi) for your appreciative remarks...
Hope to post another ‘Dunkerque’ set up on Monday.
All the best, Guys,
Andy.

Really great looking scene Andy. Love the variety of figures.
