The Robinson House at Manassas (Bull Run):

Yesterday I posted a number of photos on the John Jenkins Designs Collectors FB group of my developing "Bull Run" inspired display. This morning I was asked if I built the house on my display table. The house is a Wm. Britain offering I collected several years ago. It is #51004, "18th/19th Century Farmhouse". I believe TM Terrain was commissioned by Wm. Britain to make the master. It wasn't until I was reading about the battle of First Bull Run that I realized that this was modeled after the Robinson house. The Robinson property butted up to the back of the Henry property on Henry Hill and witnessed a lot of action during the first battle in July 1861. Also interesting, during the second battle of Bull Run in August 1862, the Robinson house was used as a Union hospital. I just had to use it here.

Looks great Mike. Thanks for the background history on the house. I remember when WB released this piece but had no idea that it was modeled after the Robinson house.

Great job, not my historical era to collect but i can still see the outstanding research and build quality.

You should be proud of the work you have put in and what you have created.

I have it, it's a spectacular item, very heavy, glad to know the history behind

It's certainly a great scenic piece . . .

Really love the history behind this house. You have created a beautiful piece of work. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks . . . It's always a nice surprise when you find out that something you thought was a generic scenic piece actually turns out to have historical significance . . .

That was interesting Mike, yes you're right Ken at Britains does put in a bit of effort into research not just into uniforms and it easily gets overlooked, so thanks for reminding us and well done Ken ! :salute::

Ken does do his research and one can depend on anything produced by Ken will be historically accurate, even scenic pieces. With that said, this farm house was developed when Richard Walker was at the helm of Wm. Britain and, like Ken, was keen on historical accuracy.

Great story and a great looking display. One of my favorite parts of this hobby is the bits of history I get to learn along the way.
