At long last (after Ana drove her eyes buggy taking pictures), we have the first good look at the Shores of Tripoli! This is the Eaton expedition attacking (and taking) the city of Derna.

Eaton's expedition consisted of a very motley group, of Arabs and...

Greek Mercenaries:

US Marines (there were only 8) plus William Eaton (sort of Army, mainly diplomat):

The defenders of Derna were those "Barbary Pirates":

This is not the entire line...but it's what we have to show you for now.

As with other Honour Bound releases, these will be released, two sets at a time. The first two sets to be available are:

While we don't quite have an exact release date, we expect the first 30 of each set will be available in July. I will have Mandi get them on the website tomorrow. Remember, these are a Treefrog Treasures exclusive! As an exclusive, the cost is $130 per set of 4 figures.

A few notes about these images:

These figures are the painted prototypes. As such, there may be slight variations in the final products. We will provide images of the actual production figures when they are available.

The US flag is not the actual one that will be included in the set. It is included only to allow the flagbearer to hold something  That will be part of a future release, so the actual flag will be ready before more images are taken.

Last, and we're quite excited about this part of the production of the Shores of Tripoli ... these figures will be assembled and painted IN AMERICA! We're bringing production back home to the States which is VERY, VERY exciting. What better place to produce US Marines!

So, let the Shores of Tripoli begin!

Those are great looking and very interesting figures.
The Barbarian Pirates and the Greek Mercenaries really make for a very colorful display.
Also it is good to hear that they are assembled and painted in the U.S.
Except for Barzso, there is hardly any manufacturer heard of to have his stuff produced here at home.
Congratulations to TF for this first exclusive series and great success!

What a beautiful range! Honour Bound and Treefrog Treasures deserve the warmest congratulations on these!
:cool::cool:

Too bad they are Barbary pirates, not Barbarian pirates... or else I'd collect them!
;)

Cheers...

Fantastic sets.
Is there any possibility of selling them in sets of 2 figures, like John Jenkins?
THanks Benjamin

Peter and Shannon and Anna those are really cool sets.
I like them tremendously . They are colorful and unique.
Now down to brass tacks.
How much and when will they be available and at what intervals.

Brilliant, I wish you much success with these new figures. I particularly like the mounted figure.

Hi Damian (and all),
The first two sets are now on our website for pre-order. They sell for $130 per 4-figure set and the 1st 30 sets of each are planned to be ready in July.
We are expecting to have two sets released about every two months. The Tripoli line can't interfere with the release of HB's main focus of WWII figures so we have to be patient and wait our turn ;).

Here is a link to the Tripoli sets.

Who will be doing the painting? Anyone we know on the forum?
It is exciting that you found a local talent. There are many on the forum:)

Randy

Will these sets be Limited Editions? If so what is the edition size?
Thanks
Stan

WOW Peter, and of course Ana, those figures are very impressive and I'm sure they will be a big hit for those into that era. Btw, I have to confess I had no idea where Tripoli is, but having done some googling I found that its now in Lebanon - those Marines sure get around  :D

Hi Randy,
I don't know if I'm at liberty to say at this point so I'd better pass on that question in case it's an HB trade secret. I can say I've seen samples of the US painting work and it is excellent.

With an exclusive line I'd hate to limit it to a small number so I don't think we have a specific number in mind. I'd hate to have someone want to start collecting the series later on and be frustrated that the first sets were sold out and gone, so I'd say they are not limited editions. If this turns out to be incorrect I will be sure to mention it in a followup post and give people warning, but I'm pretty sure they aren't LEs.

Thanks for your interest!

I prefer that approach to a limited edition approach.
I do not want to be pressurized into buying because I fear it may be deleted or retired.

Good news about the open end edition. I would like to consider this series but had it been limited I might not have been able to fit it into a budget-time frame window. -- lancer
