This very evening, as I sat pondering over the unfolding scene in North Africa, I felt pretty secure. With reinforcements coming sometime in May for the 8th Army, They could finally gain the upper hand on Rommel's Afrika Korps. But then it hit me, like the African sun. I took a deep breath and said to myself, "Self, these 8th Army boys are gonna have a hard time whipping them Germans, they are missing an essential piece of combat equiptment for any Allied party in the desert..." And like a mirage it appeared.....

That's right, the one thing the 8th Army lacks, (Besides U.S. support ;) ), A kick @$$ jeep.

Possibly a special edition during the holiday season 2007? Oh well, just a suggestion, until then (or if not) the new batch in May and the upcoming armor will definitly make due.

If your going to go for a jeep ,youve got to have a L.R.D.G chevy truck
to go with it,With a Kiwi crew of course:D

C'mon it's the Aussies turn for a vehicle, you Kiwis just got a Dingo :)

That jeep is from the Long Range desert Group and was made a few years ago. The set number is SAS01 and SAS02. They are one of my favorites. I would love an update on these series. The Chevy truck was a very rare piece with on about 6 made I believe.

I with you guys on this one!!!

Bill,

With the Chevy truck it was more like 30-40 than 6 made. However, they were so delicate that many broke in transit, so the number 6 might be more accurate about surviving sets. I have only come across three in my collecting days: mine, bought directly from K&C back in 1997-1998 when it was being produced, my friend Jack's, and another in the possession of K&C, UK, which was offered to me, I passed it along to a collector/dealer, and it arrived in about 10 pieces when shipped.

Speaking of the scout car it looks like a sharp piece, and I am looking

How about a Kiwi chevy and an Aussie jeep then everybody is happy (hopefully).:D

I agree the Dingo and all the new eigth army stuff looks great,
The way petrol prices are going i might just have to buy two dingos and strap them too my feet as a pair of roller skates:) ,lets hope polystone dosent contain any petrolium based ingredients.

You said it. How do you like the head of Exxon retiring with a 400 million

dollar package? What on earth is one man going to do with an extra 400

million? Has he not gotten paid for the last 43 years? Perhaps he has used

all his money on clothes, no, okay cosmetic surgery, no. Ok I give up.

Exxon earned 36+Billion last year on sales of 332+Billion.......oh course it

did give its shareholders a wopping $1.28 dividen I wonder where I put it?

I don't remember seeing the note on the 400 Million dollar package either.

Njja:confused:

Buy a lot of retired K & C maybe?:D

For that kind of money he could probably have Andy relocate to a garage

on his estate and produce King & Country miniatures all wearing Exxon

uniforms.

Yeah I would like to get some of those figures too, so I can paint prison uniforms over their Exxon uniforms.

Just another log on the fire... The CEO of United health Care as part of his compinsation package has 1.6 BILLION dollars in stock options, that Billion with a "B". remember that the next time you look at your healthcare cost and premiums!
Ray

Yes stock options, Home Depot made 300 of its employees millionares

something spoken often about........"If you work hard, you may not see

to much of your family, but some day you will be a millionare"

And another old favorite "You can go home when your areas are perfect....

where are you going?.......what about your weak sisters? Isn't there

anyplace you could be helping?

And of course my all time favorite many years later........"You see that

S.O.B. over there...do you know last year his options were worth one

million"

You just can't seem to win, well easily anyway.

No problem, always happy to lower the tone - only kidding anyway:D

I feel compelled to say that senior management and highly compensated executives are not the only people that benefit from stock options although they're a convenient target. Employee stock options get granted to the rank and file from middle management on down. Stock options are an important part of a benefits package and without the options I've received over the years I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to afford a lot of the things I've been able to purchase. So, yes, some executives are getting offensive packages but don't forget that many other employees benefit from them too.
