It’s not every day one sees a model of the Soviet IS-7 tank, particularly in prebuilt 1/30 scale. I was initially underwhelmed that First Legion was going the gaming route with their “World of Tanks” themed line, but this mode grew on me and I’m glad I took the plunge to get it. FL’s IS-7 Granite tank is a fanciful “what if” take on an actual Soviet prototype heavy tank from the late 1940s had it actually seen production and use. The model has the fine detailing and weathering one expects from a First Legion AFV. It’s an impressive piece, even if it’s historically inaccurate.

I’ve posted some pics below of the IS-7, which I’ve got in a vignette display with some FL Stalingrad Russians on a War Park base. I’m definitely happy with this model!

That’s brilliant and certainly impressive and no doubt one of a kind. Neatly laid out to boot. Robin.

Gotta have some fun! Love it. Was that the one that could survive a nuclear war?

Thanks for the kind comments everyone 😃

I’m really surprised by how much I like this tank… Hopefully FL adds more interesting subjects to their WOT lineup.

Very nice to see the tank in action! It's an absolute beast. When partnering with WoT, they were very specific about the tank that they wanted us to create for them. However, we couldn't resist the opportunity for such a major licensing agreement that would put our products in front of 10's of thousands of their gamers, so we essentially did what they asked us to do. That being said, more models will come from this series and we'll have a greater level of input as to what is next. So stay tuned for that. The Premium model is just about sold out but the metallic one, which is an incredible model in it's own right - much more metal in it - is still available with good stock levels.

I know a lot of the "Paper Panzers" are in the WoT games. This might be an interesting way to bridge both worlds, and produce things like a Panther Ausf. F with Schmallturm and 8.8cm cannon.

Interested to see what you do with the line.

Thanks and glad to hear the WOT line will be expanding! I’ll admit I was initially hesitant about the line when the IS-7 was first announced, but it grew on me… I’m eager to see what the next offerings will be and I’m hoping for a German Maus 😎
