Loving your 'Nam shots and collection Steve, but couldn't you give my pictures a little face time before you bump them.

Cheers Rob, Been taking some time off work, but I really need to get on with some chores. So no more little scenes until the weekend. I'll give your new one a bump back to the top. :wink2:

Back at you Steve, thanks. I get excited to share pictures from time-to-time. Please don't hold off on posting your splendid scenes, though. I always enjoy seeing what you come up with.

Rob wasn't really complaining and I get Rob's comment, as viewers time is limited, so only see the new posts.

Thanks Larry good of you to say, though I still have a lot to learn and long way to go before my dioramas are as good as quite a few members.

Hi Steve, now that you've got a pretty extensive collection of K&C's 'Nam figures (a most impressive collection I might add), how do you think they compare to TCS 'Nam figures? I picked up their first wave with the Marine Huey. What do you think?

Hi Rob

As Gary among others have said, the first wave were large figures, Of these I only have the sitting figure and the laying wounded one. The wounded one fits in well with K&C line.
The seated one is on the large size his knee is about level with thigh of a standing K&C and the later TCS ones. But you do occasionally get really big guys, so I accept that figure as such.{sm4}
The M16 of the first wave is much larger than the K&C M16, as is the helmet and canteen.
I only have the one of Platoon series figures and height wise it goes well with K&C though the helmet is still large.
The stock on the M60 is painted brown and resembles one for an MG42, but clipping off the top to make it resemble more the stock of an M60 and painting makes it ok though still a tad on the small size. The figure only has one thigh pocket modelled, but isn't too noticeable. The canteens are still too large.
But after I finished painting the figure to fit with the K&C Marines figures, it looks fine.

Of the Green Berets I've only got the Colonel Kirby / John Wayne figure again the canteen is too large, as is the M56 butt pack. The M16 is smaller than the first wave one and only very slightly bigger than K&C's.
Height wise the figure matches fits in well with K&C's Vietnam Marines which do vary a little in size as people do, i.e. VN07 the M60 gunner is taller than VN04, standing firing a M16.

Hope this helps Rob.

Thanks Steve. I appreciate the detailed comparison. I purchased the first six TCS Marines to go with the Hog. The recent releases including Kirby look really nice. As I'm sure you've seen, I've been building up my WWII USMC and Japanese and will probably not drift too much into 'Nam, esp. with a number of 2018 Pacific items still on my wish list.

They all look fantastic, but it's hard to collect multiple themes, even if you like them.

Thanks again and keep those scenes coming. I'm going to go check out that TCS Kirby now. :salute::
