I picked up the USMC stretcher set. And I have to admit that is the most powerful set I own. Well done King and Country

Wow, been waiting for this to be released. Seems you have found the inside track. Certainly looks a fantastic piece, a real collectors item and iconic to this series. Glad to know you think it's all that it is cracked up to be. I gather you mean the 4 man set carrying the stretcher and not the American flag set for the dead Marine. Robin.

Sorry for the confusion. It is the one with the Marine kneeling over the stretcher with the flag draped over it

Yeah I guessed this after I posted. Agree it is a striking set. Expecting mine to arrive later this week. Robin.

I agree guys ... that is one POWERFUL set of USMC figures.
Even if you don't collect WWII Pacific figures ... this is one that should be in all collections.

Now Andy, not to be pushy, :rolleyes: but if I could buy the flag draped stretcher (an not have to have the kneeling USMC guy, that would be wonderful.) I can picture many scenes that have a row of causalities, but only one or two Marines looking at their departed brothers. I'll go out on a limb and promise to buy 10 of these flag draped stretchers. A few other collectors want the kneeling Marine but not so many stretchers.
Just a thought, Andy ... just a thought.

IF you guys do an Internet search you will see what I am talking about.

I have a photo from my DAD'S WWII album, when he served in the Pacific in the Navy. One shows a burial from on board his ship at that time. I don't think he took the shot as it was a "professional" looking picture, but none less he NEVER FORGOT that moment.:redface2: :(

This photo I put here was published in a local newspaper in New Orleans. according to family legend, the kneeling Marine was identified by my aunt as her brother, my late father Joe Bernard at Saipan. notice the similarities? pretty **** awesome to me.

Why, if you don't collect the range. If you do, I understand. Otherwise, no.

What if you just collect Naps, having the set wouldn't make much sense.

Morning Brad,
Many collectors these days "focus" on a few eras or ranges. Maybe this is due to financial reasons, space considerations, military conflicts of interest or possibly have some personal attachment to the range.

At the same time, I often read that a particular piece strikes a collector and it is just good to pass up, even if they don't collect that series.
To "me" the USMC Flag Draped Stretcher set happen to be one of those pieces ... so YES it make perfect sense.

My areas of interest are the K&C AWI (no surprise there); K&C USMC and JN /B] (Again, no surprise); the K&C and JJD WWII USN sets and the JJD War or 1812 and FWI era.

Still, I have some Napoleonic Artillery sets, WWI Russian / German sets and a few others from the (now long gone) Lead Army company.

BUT .. one great fact about this hobby of ours is you can choose to buy or not to buy any piece you want ...

Hope to see you are MFCA, Brad ..{sm4}

WOW .... way more than AWESOME .... that is a once in a lifetime.

As I just commented to Brad (below) even if you don't collect the K&C USMC ... this might be one that you have to have.
Imagine the photo of your Dad and an almost perfect match for the picture.

NOW THAT is AWESOME.

Thanks for posting a great picture of an American Hero!{sm4}

Hello KingToot,
With your permission, would you mind if I tried to reproduce that photo in a small min-diorama for posting here?

I wonder if there is anyway to get a print of that photo from the N.O. newspaper? :rolleyes2:

Hi Larry

Found several versions of photo you're interested in on internet, this one which may well be the original, seems to be without copyright/ permission, so you should be able to print it off yourself without worry.

Many thanks, Steve .... the quality of this photo is really good.

I have one set of AF035 "USMC Leathernecks" .. that might fit the picture of the US Marines in the background.
Need a couple more to reproduce the photo as accurately as possible.

You're welcome Larry. Perhaps Andy's future releases will have something that will compliment the stretcher set.

what a photo full of drama. Andy has made a nice set of them! I ordered the set today together with set USMC 36 and 39! hope to have them in next week.

I would suspect that Andy's design and production schedule stretches well past 2018 ... but ONE DAY ... I can envision a Medical tent and doctors who are operating or tending the wounded. There can be "patched up" soldiers in beds and others being brought into the tents on a stretcher, as is show in an up coming release of the 4 stretcher bearers and the wounded Marine. :rolleyes:

Andy has already set the precedent with figures from the WWII WHnnn series (WH004 - WH009) and the WSnn Series (WS259 - WS269). Add some of the AF Jeeps AF036 with a stretcher or wounded and you have one hellva' scene!!{sm4}

--- Just thinking out loud ... or in this case with the keyboard.

I hope so! My grandfather (and namesake) was a Navy doctor aboard the USS Sibley serving in the Pacific during WWII. His son (my uncle) was a toy soldier collector, and helped me start my collection. This would give me a way to pay homage to them both!

I agree. I followed your advice and bought mine from mmtoysoldiers on eBay.
