Hi Guys,

In 1960, after almost a decade of testing and research, the U.S. Army began fielding a brand-new 1/4-ton utility truck that would go on to serve America’s armed forces for nearly 40 years... The M151 Military Utility Tactical Truck simply known as ‘The MUTT’.

Originally seen as a replacement for the post WW2 M38 ‘Jeep’ it was developed and manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. In the eventual full production of the M151, Ford would be joined by two other U.S. companies, Kaiser-Jeep and AM General and together they would produce just over 100,000 vehicles.

In addition to serving the U.S. military various models of the M151 have also been utilized by 15 different NATO countries as well as over 100 other countries worldwide.

ON ACTIVE SERVICE
During the Vietnam War, M151 ‘MUTTS were almost as ubiquitous as the iconic UH-1 ‘Hueys’ or M113 armoured personnel carriers. All branches of the U.S. armed forces operated ‘The MUTT’ and many were supplied to the ARVN (Army of the Republic of South Vietnam).

Two of the many advantages of the M151 was its adaptability and reliability. It could be easily modified to carry a variety of weapons including 106mm recoilless rifles and various machine guns, especially the M60 machine gun.

Here is an ‘Advance Preview’ of another upcoming K&C ‘Vietnam Fighting Vehicle’...

This first version is the USMC M151. As you can see this model is battle-worn and in action with a Marine driver and another ‘Grunt’ standing on the rear compartment manning the M60.

Our second version, still being ‘master painted’, is a U.S. Army Military Police M151 on patrol duty, again with an MP driver and his buddy standing ‘on guard’ with the M60.

Can’t give you an exact release schedule just yet but thought you would like to see ‘what’s in the works’ anyway.

All the best and happy collecting!
Andy

Andy mate,

That is outstanding and also what I call a great Jeep. I'm up for quite a few of these little beauties.

Cheers Howard:salute::

Looks great Andy !

Have a question please, Is the standing M60 gunner fixed in place or removable ?

Thanks

Steve

Look a great vehicle and it will be interesting to see the variants. I am sure lots of Vietnam war collectors will snap them up.

Nice. very nice indeed.

Question: Is the gunner a separate piece that can be detached or reapplied to suite any diorama we make?

Thanks,

Carlos

Hi Steve & Carlos,
The ‘Gunner’ and the M60 are both removable…
Hope this helps,
Andy.

Great looking future release...one word: SOLD !

Finally! I held off getting the TG Mutt Jeep because the front grille did not look right. Thanks Andy, hopefully a cargo/troop carrier version of the M-35 (or M-54) truck is in the offing. It will complement the recent M-35 Gun Truck recently released.

Hi Guys,

Here’s a few more ‘shots’ of the ‘MUTT’ model illustrating the separate M60 and the Marine gunner.

Also, some folks have asked me to show comparison shots with our Aussie Land Rover and another company’s version of this iconic ‘Vietnam War’ vehicle.

Happy to do so... All the very best and happy collecting!
Andy

P.S. I hope to release some advance pix of the Military Police ‘Mutt’ next week.

Yep good to see that the gunner is removable Andy gives so many more possibilities.:salute::

Wow[SUP]10[/SUP]! Glad I waited. The other Mutt’s grille looks like it has Hitler's moustache. tuyệt Andy!
How about a version with a tarp?
