The Village Blacksmith (1 Viewer)

Happy Weekend collectors;
I am new to JJD soldiers, but a collector of K&C AWI for a bit. I just started the War of 1812 series.

There are a couple of blacksmith shops structures that are available. One is from Britains and the other is from JG Miniatures. The JG collection has one3D building (JHC02) and then two add on pieces JGC07 and JGC07A the forge. Kinda pricey for the set though!!

I hope to get this guy soon!

UPDATE --- The Village Blacksmith

Just got home and what I nice surprise on the table. {sm3}
My JJD RRB-03 "The Blacksmith" arrived. What a fantastic set; three pieces, the Blacksmith, the Horse and the Anvil.

Sculpting and shading a on the blacksmith is superb. YOU gotta’ get look at the guys face, rugged and tired. His muscles are well pounced as he is holding the hammer. His apron is soiled and worn as is his clothes …. Darn you can smell the soot and ash.
The anvil is detailed to show wear and dings, nice. The horse is nice but a bit “flat” in the painting.

I never posted a picture before,:confused: so I will attempt to build a quick scene tomorrow and give it a shot.:confused:

I hope that John does other "non-military" figures that can be worked into a military dio. For example a carpenter and his tools, farmer and implements, shop keeper and store with items, maybe a doctor, Tavern, civilians.... so much that can be done.
A Tavern set was done by Frontline Figures, but I never saw one up close. Anybody have or seen the Frontline sets?

This is a great way to display a set like this. There's so much scope for this type of figure. I too hope that more similar sets get released. Good job Larry.
