Picked these up a couple weeks ago and couldn't resist the urge to paint them up. Here are the first 4:

Cool figures. Sweet paintjob. How many poses in the set? There may be some conversion material here for stripped bodies 2 days after a civil war or Napoleonic battle.

Now that's a brilliant idea Middleguard! Never thought of that. and I've been looking for soldier to convert into wounded and dead soldiers. They can be converted into any era from 1800s onwards, even world war 2 civilians, soldiers. Thanks mate!

Thanks for the comments gents! You know I had the same idea banging around while I was painting these guys...thinking how gruesome you could make a battle scene or post battle scene. Have at it guys, I would love to see some conversion work by some of you! There are 7 poses overall in the set 2 copies of each for 14. But unfortunately, I think these guys are rather hard to find. I believe they have been released over a year now...I just checked Amazon and they were going for 40 to 56$!!!! I checked ebay as well and they were a bit better at 30-40$. I was lucky to run into these while we were vacationing at Universal Studios in Orlando. I guess they have a licensing agreement with AMC? and are able to sell the merchandise, and they had several sets on sale. They were like 18$ down there, which was fine by me! Just do an image search on google or wherever for Walking dead zombie army men and you can see the full 7 poses.

These are great! I have a set on the way now. These Walking Dead figures make good rank and file Walkers to go with the Box O Zombies and October Toys sets.

The original Gentle Giant site has them again at $13.99

Thanks for the heads up on gentle giant's site Scott! That's a great deal for those considering how bad everyone else is trying to rip you off for them! They had those new blood spattered poses of zombies at Orlando as well...but as a painter, clearly I had no need for those.

It was mentioned before, but the Box O' Zombies is pretty cool. A little more "character" to their figures, but they styling and size is the same. I picked up a box at Gen-Con here in Indianapolis. I have them set up, with the Gentle Giant poses, fighting some AIP Modern American forces. Throw in some Airfix SAS troops, and you've got yourself a nice little sci-fi horror scene.

Beau

I was thinking about other possible conversions for these guys. A WWII dio about finding and saving the POWs or the sad discovery of a concentration camp. That episode of Band Of Brothers was in your face with some of the visuals. There are a lot of pictures and tons of footage about those camps. It would be a grim reminder of what we went to war for, and a tribute to those who survived.

I saw those too Beau, and they look pretty cool..... I was tempted to get some to bolster my new mini-horde....but then I realized, oh no, not another genre of toy soldiers to collect!!?!??! Hahahaa...I was already expanding the collection in my own mind. I probably will stop with this 1 set...but the zombie inside me says.."MORE TOY SOLDIERS....MMMMOREEEE SOLDIERS"...{eek3}

14 figure! 7 poses! 2 colors! Mine just arrived. I see some US Civil War figures among the men with jackets.

Hey guys great job painting those figures. What scale are they? I have started collecting the walking dead playsets and I am looking to expand the horde but the figures are only 2 Inches. Planning on doing a big diorama so need some good Zombie recon.
