Major-General Robert Craufurd (5 May 1764 – 23 January 1812), a Scottish soldier and MP who command a light brigade and then the Light Division in the Napoleonic Peninsular War from 1809 to 1812. Craufurd was a strict disciplinarian and somewhat prone to violent mood swings which earned him the nickname "Black Bob". His performance in rescuing another British division at Fuentes de Onoro was textbook perfect and he was well respected by Wellington. Always one to lead from the front he was mortally wounded storming the lesser breach in the Siege of Ciudad Rodrigo on 19 January 1812 and died four days later.

Major General Denis Pack (1772 - 1823), commanded the British 71st at Rolica, Vimeiro and Corruna, then commanded brigade in Portaguese army from 1810 - 1813, commanded brigade in 6th British Division through Toulouse where badly wounded, commanded the (9th Brigade in Picton's 5th Division at Waterloo.
