I'd like a piece of this...I always use to come on the Forum and still go on...but...I have to say that there has been alot of arguing and politics on here lately, when it is a hobby...I realize that the Forum is ment to express what we feel or what is the point of an open forum...but I must say that the intent of this Forum is to share in our hobby, making new friends along the way, and it seems to have been getting side tracked lately and I find myself trying to avoid arguments......I'f I wanted to argue I wouldn't bother with the Forum I would just spend my entire night with my wife which would suffice in that regard. I think politics is important...just not in my hobby...infact politics seems to take the fun out of most things in life.... I think some of the guys are right instead of arguing lets celebrate the new figures released.

I've only been collecting a few years so I'm no expert..but...what I can tell you is we never had this problem in the past on the Forum it's only developed in the past 6 months....I remember the guys on here saying most of the other Forums do too much arguing while we all just admired the K&C sets and made POSITIVE comments on each other's collections and displays.

Sadly... I find myself less interrested in sharing my collecting views on here less and less. AGAIN BEFORE SOMEONE SAYS SOMETHING....I REALIZE PART OF THIS FORUM IS TO EXPRESS OUR POLITICAL AND RELGIOUS VIEWS...BUT IT SEEMS THAT THE TRUE MEANINGOF THIS HOBBY HAS BEEN LOST SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN.

I noticed this Thread has been moved and yet I find most of the arguing between K&C collectors...having said this I think the thread does apply to the K&C Forum. I'm sure peole will disagree with me...hard to keep everyone happy....I just noticed this myself and felt I should comment on it when I've been on the Forum for so long.

Just reading the title of this thread makes bothers me......I felt that I should say that it is an honor to be on this Forum with all of you and I feel we are very lucky to have it through all the hard work by Peter, Shannon and the moderators and I thank you for that......:)

I did move it. This seemed to belong more to a general discussion, rather than just the K & C section itself.

You observed that it seemed as if the recent troubles (if there really are any) took place in the last six months. That probably coincides with the arrival of more members and it is not a coincidence. As the Forum grows it will change and evolve and be different than it was a year or a year and a half ago.

I don't politics has a place in the forum but it does have a tendency to get in and sometimes it will just come out. There are enough other venues to discuss politics and Shannon, Pete and I do not want this to be one of those venues.

This should be a positive place, and generally has been, so hopefully we can continue to move in that direction.

Hey Brad I thought the same thing....perhaps it's all the different views on here (political that is).....maybe from now on...if politics is discussed it can go on the General Forum...really.....I have worked for the Government since I was 17...and can't stand it getting in the way of my personal life.....I like the fact that the Forum is growing...I just found myself getting in heated discussions with other Forum members that I have known along time...which have never happened before...maybe it's just me, or maybe its all the snow thats getting on my nerves.

I'm a little confused....isn't this a Forum about Military Miniatures?

Aren't Military Miniatures mainly (no offense ladies) collected by men?

What exactly do these men do when Louis takes them to his club for

Diner, cigars, a drink, and perhaps to the gun range?

Don't men disagree, on occasion, and perhaps get a little over excited

if they feel they have been insulted?

I say lets "Butch It Up" a little and move on. If your feelings are getting

the best of you think......what would John Wayne do.

I hope to God (excuse me) that when I get to meet Andy C., Louis, and

some of the gang we have a heated discussion, fire a few rounds, and have

a good time...............rather then a good cry for ourselves.

Some frustration here would be alleviated if members better distinguish between public and private type messages. There is a lot of back and forth or repetitive clutter on the board which is of interest only to those particular folks. That should really take the form of a PM. The differences of opinion are inevitable and not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion. There is only so much new toy soldier information to post and discuss each month - so if we limit ourselves to just that this forum becomes toysoldierchat.
 
Fill your boots.... I don't mind having disagreements on here or debates just felt that when people argue politics and it gets nasty it takes away from the hobby, no one's feelings are hurt if they were that hurt they would continue to collect without the agravation of arguing on here.... If you want a thread of fireworks then start one...but..if someone is trying to have fun by starting a thread about there collection or a figure they like I don't think it should continually get side tracked into politics or putting down another culture etc....NJJA you are one of the originals that I have spoken about 2 years ago so I'm surprised you like the arguing or putting down of people on here...as I said I don't mind a debate about the hobby...just think religion and politics is too much for any hobby.....

The forum is about toy soldiers & not about the individual on it :D
 
Hey AJJ65..I think they are really nice...but have to admit we need more infantry.....I've been holding out for my British Foot......I love them all though and will be definitely be getting them......:)

What would John Wayne do????? Do you mean act like the same plank of wood as in every other film he ever made????!!!!!!!!!
 
Nah Rob, John Wayne was a cool guy or at least his film persona was always cool.
His characters took no nonsense and always tried to do the right thing.

Anyways how are you today O postal One?

It's a nice sunny day here but the working day is just beginning. :(
 
Hi Oh Easy one,

I'm ok today.Have been housebound with my back injury for a while but it has its advantages.I'm hoping my HB Winter Panther will arrive any day now so i will at least be in for it!.So glad all the arguing has stopped and things back to normal on here.You know we had our little campaign for the paras.Well maybe we should have a little campaign for some PICS of the forthcoming Para's!(only kidding Andy)Have a good day at work mate
