Watching these videos and others on Youtubel, I have to say that the Panther is the most beautiful tank ever built. It is simply lethal perfection!
 
Does anyone know what museum that was? It looks like Germany?
 
Nothing beats putting the top down, gunning the engine and cruising down the road.
 
I had to laugh when I watched this video of an Armortek 1/6 Tiger II. The sound kit is so good. Listen when the model comes to a stop and the engine goes to idle. :cool::D

See how much better the design of the turret is. On the original Panther with the curved mantlet shots that hit the bottom of the mantlet could be deflected through the thin armor on the top of the hull into the driving compartment. This is why you see a chin extension on the bottom of the mantlet of late model Panthers. Also, with the new turret the frontal area is reduced to a minimum. You can see this on the Tiger II as well. The Panther Ausf.F and Panther II would also have incorporated thicker armor.
