Oh yes they do.

Like many collectors I am sure collecting habits change over time depending on what's on the market and what's in your wallet. More recently I had settled into a pattern of K&C, WB and a few JJDs and occasional bits from a few smaller manufacturers. TG came along and I found them great for getting a few figures to fill up so called 'gaps'.

Trouble was the figures were so good, there was such a good friendly service and the email messenger so easy to reserve from I got hooked and have ended up buying more TG over the last 18 months than any other manufacturer (about 75% of their total output). That was bad enough. Now we have the very limited special planes they do. InSAM_3048.JPGSAM_3050.JPGSAM_2609.JPGSAM_2614.JPG my humble opinion the best planes currently around. With three still to be shipped of the more recent offerings I have around 10 of the little beauties.

I feel I am cheating on the other manufactures who I have had a longstanding relationship. Toy soldier agony aunts - what is a boy to do?

The TGM WW1 biplanes are generally superb. I find it ironic that the one I own, the Kissenberth Eindecker (WoW 05), has only the one wing. I do love their aircraft. -- Al

Looks like you have a great collection there of planes. Do you have any of the JJD ones.

I started collecting toy soldiers in 2002. It was purely figures then (WB North Gate Diorama got me into the hobby). Although I have not specialised in planes over the years they have crept into my collection. I have 8 JJD planes (including the two Spanish Civil War ones) but have 6 of the WW1 aircraft. K&C I have around 15 from both WW1 and mainly WW2 and 3 figarti WW2 offerings. Then of course the TG 10. So whats that? around 30 and growing. TG's are the best though (although the K&C Japanese Zero fighter is a must have for me when I can afford it).

Otherwise very eclectic collection ranging from ancient Egypt to modern day. Around 10,000 figures and vehicles.

A very impressive collection, both in numbers and variety. Where do you keep it all? That's a lot to display. -- Al

Great collection of aircraft and supporting figures! Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Brendan

Displaying your collection - not a unique problem. I used to have a large attic that was a dedicated toy soldier space (featured once in Toy Soldier Collector). Divorce, moving house in the UK, moving in with a new partner and then shipping half way around the world has meant currently they are all stored in a large double garage. Plan is to rent an out building in Greytown New Zealand and set up a mini museum. One day!

Looking at the WW1 Biplane aero line up all I can say is I think its about time the lawn was mowed Gary!
Best wishes Vicki

10,000, now I see why you are storing them outside{eek3}, there is a chance with all that metal being shipped over to your island, it may go under. Some photos of your collection would be good. Robin.

Thanks Vicki - I have sacked the gardener as all my money is going to TG and we can't afford his wages. Next to go is eating anything other than beans, eggs and toast. The wife is not impressed but I have told her it is in a good cause!

As for storage the garage is not ideal and negociating renting an outbuilding in Greytown to be able to display this lot in a mini museum. Greytown is the mecca for toy soldiers in NZ. The only two manufactures in NZ (or I belive now in Aus) as based here. So why not a musuem? Its luck there are only 4 million peeps over here as the islands might sag a bit!

Best

somehow marriage and toy soldiers really don't work that well together and as we get older I can see the toy soldiers usually win out. I hope you find happiness and get that museum built. good luck
