Still not convinced by the staff car. will need to see this in someone's collection as it does still look... just can't find the words but, it does not look right. Don't like the winter effect and the camo pattern has been spoiled by the fact you can see the over spray pattern off the airbrush. Also not sure why we have a SS field police with a the swastika armband????

Hi Mitch,

Agree with you....Not sure if the SS would use party arm bands in the field......
As to the livery of these small staff cars, I can tell you foresure that these small Opel cars were used by the Army in the Western Front, if any went to the Eastern front I doubt....or maybe they went in the initial phase of operation Barbarossa.....but then they would still be in early field gray....
So I would foresure say that a miss was not to include in the options the early war field grey option that most likely was the most common version:confused:^&confuse...the choice of the camo option, where the vehicles started going from the standard field gray to the khaki/dust/yellowish background with green and brown patches, was only used towards the end of the war when the German Air Force no longer had the air supremacy......Now as to the Afrika Korps version ...hummm:confused:;)unless a picture of one can be produced by our fellow froggers I assure you that Rommel did not have these Opels in Afrika......they commandeered whatever British soft skin vehicles they could lay their hands on, or would use the FIATs that Mussulini's troops would have at hand....
If we disconsider this Historical accuracy.....and only think of providing options to collectors, well then it's valid....
Cheers

they certainly went to the eastern front. From the Opel kadett 81.000 were built between 1935 and 1937 and from the olympia 33.000 in 1937
here you have a picture of an Opel Kadett on the Russian front and with white camo

AC...

Its not where they fought or, were used that I am questioning. I agree a full grey version should have been released its just the look and colour way that has me a little lost for words. I think your right in terms of what collectors want and historical accuracy often don't meet.

Guy...

Have not seen any pics of them in Africa but, have seen them in Sicily and Italy so, at a stretch one could say they may have been in the desert campaign or, that they would have been at least in the med region

Hi all,

Just saw a mail sent by Vicki Lucas ( Gunn Marketing Manager ) and they are asking us all amongst other things who would be interested in a French Foreign Legion Fort....If they get enough interested parties one will be offered......
I have already said YEAH.....If you are keen on giving your FFL a decent depot from which to march out or to defend from the Tuaregs.......send her a note.....

Cheers
