Mike - Nicely done, as awlays!!

As for myself, I only collect the American Side is hopes of Seminoles or Creeks sometime in the future. Unsure about Fallen Timbers.

Thank you Ken.............I wouldn't mind Seminoles or Creeks, but I got a feeling John is heading in another direction.

Mike,

If I told you that the Front Gate at Fort Duquesne was a exact replic of the Quebec Gate, would you get brick factory up and running again?

Actually, the whole western side of Fort Duquesne was in actually in masonary and not timber. To prove my ascertion, I have twin granite blocks at the head of my driveway from the original Fort Duquense. One is stamped "Fort Duquesne 1753, Property of His Most Christian Majestyl Louis XV". The other is stamped "Go Away, Dinwiddie (Such a Silly Name!!)".

Wow, I would like to see a photo of your driveway and an illustration of the fort itself.

I think I read somewhere that it was a 3-sided fort (a triangle).

Ken, I actually used some bricks yesterday to build a chimney for a AWI house I'm building, it's not glued on so I had to lean the house to show it.

I may be reading this wrong...........this excerpt might just be referring to the land, where the rivers form a triangle.......but this is what it says.

Duquesne, Fort, a French stronghold at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers, at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1753, the Marquis Duquesne de Menneville, governor of New France, moved to seize the Ohio Valley from the British. On the route from Lake Erie to the Allegheny River, forts were erected at Presque Isle, Le Boeuf, and Venango. In the same year, Robert Dinwiddie, British lieutenant-governor, sent George Washington to warn the French to cease encroaching on the Ohio Valley. The French refused to back down. In February 1754, an expedition of 800 Frenchmen left Montreal, and, on 17 April, took possession of the fort being built by the Ohio Company at the confluence of the Ohio River. The French destroyed this work and constructed Fort Duquesne on the site.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The rivers protected two sides of the triangle; walls of squared logs and earth twelve feet thick protected its base.

Outside the walls was a deep ditch and beyond that a log stockade.

Hi Mike

The picture below with the troop column and pack horses ... is so iconic. Wonder  if John will be inspired to produce similar pack horses ... or mules even.

These can be used in most all of JJD ranges ... since we already have many with marching troops. That would be just so so cool

The truth is my post about Fort Duquesne and the Quebec Gate is a total fabrication. By going so far off the deep end, I thought everyone would realize this. Fort Duquesne was timber. My apology to everyone.

Maybe some day Titus..........it's got a long way to go, lol.

Hopefully, the paint job will make it look a little better.

Might have to resurrect Michaelangelo to save this one.:(

It's okay if it doesn't turn out, it's just popsicle sticks, not a big investment.

It still needs shingles, a door, window trim, a paint job and some touching up.

Even if it turns out okay....I don't think the manufacturers have anything to worry about.

So stop goofing off and get it done so we can see how you'll be playing with it. Looking good Michael.....The Lt.
