Hi there i am not quite sure what I am doing with this poll. I will try and explain

While researching my new range i came across a vast amount of British campaigns, battles and expeditions I would love to represent. It would probably be impossible to cover all of these in depth so I thought about just doing one figure from each battle or each period. Something similar to the WBritains red coat range or the Napoleonics that Del Prado did. For instance a 13 light infantryman from Afghanistan 1842 or a 42nd highlander from Egypt 1882 or a Royal Marine from the first China War.

There is hundreds to choose from so i just thought that I would put it to you for some feedback to see if its worth doing or not. The idea would be the release a few soldiers here and there so it would not be too much of a strain on expenses and it could be a collection you could do whilst still collecting your favorite themes.

Any feedback will very appreciated. I

Hi Iwan,

as a collector and as your dealer I would prefer, if you choose an event/scene/battle and then create&offer a group of let us say 4 or 5 figures for this theme.
In my eyes single figures are out of time, most collectors I know don t want to collect any more "stand alone figures"...
Am I wrong ?

best regards
Marcus

I would also prefer at least 5 figures per period. While I might buy the occasional 1 figure, there is a lot more you can do with 5.

I would be on this sort of range if it had Northwest Frontier sets like the Relief of Chitral or any number of other Indian Army related themes/figures. Would prefer action sets with the opposition forces as well.

I'm with Marcus. I believe you have to do what you think makes the most economic sense for your company. That being said, my preference is for a range (not just a few figures) related to 19th Century India, such as Sepoy Mutiny or Afghan Wars, which has not, to my knowledge, been done in matte, and certainly not to the quality that you would bring to the range.

Brad

Thanks for all your replies. The new range that i have planned might please a few people. It seems the collector does not want the single figure anymore maybe Marcus is right and it is out dated. do you prefer to have 4 or 5 figures from a unit,I know it does look better.

Iwan

I to prefer a few figures to make small scenes ,India and the North West frontier would get me interested

Have been waiting a long time for a quality matte manufacturer to go into Indian Mutiny, and would also be interested in Afghan Wars, Maratha wars, Boxer Rebellion and Boer Wars. Zulu ( love it , but done to death already).
4 or 5 pieces from a unit in each would be fantastic.

I would like you to continue with your Napoleonic range-I think the 43RD foot are excellent.Maybe some cavalry??? Perhaps some KGL cavalry.

I am glad you like the 43rd foot, there is another standard bearer on the way holding the regimental colours. So if you collect them or are planning on collecting them then this should please you.

If anyone is "sitting on the fence" and thinking about collecting the 43rd then I hope you take the plunge and buy 1 or 2 you won't be disappointed.

Iwan

Good news.I have all the 43RD,including some multiples, except the flagbearer and was waiting to see if you were going to produce the Regimental Flag.I look forward to seeing your French dragoons and ,maybe some British cavalry.

How would you feel about adding a couple more to the 43rd. I am thinking about doing another officer advancing or marching maybe in a grey pelisse and maybe any infantryman advancing or running with levelled musket. As you have collected the range what do you think, or anyone else for that matter?

At the moment there are several advancing or marching but no officer accompaning them.

If you are thinking of a leader for the marching/advancing section,I would prefer a NCO(preferably a corporal. since there is already a sergeant in the firing line). If you think you need another officer, how about a mounted major to stand with the flagbearers?

those are both excellent ideas and would go well with the existing soldiers. Thanks for the feedback you could be seeing these later on in the year.

I took a few pictures yesterday to try and show the types of soldiers that I mean. Most of these are from Osprey publishing. These plates mainly are from t India, Africa and Afghanistan
