Thoughts on WS35- Hitler (1 Viewer)

Do any of you recall the famous "last image of Hitler" and it consists of him awarding medals to the young defenders of Berlin, pinching the cheek of one of the boys, a scene replicated extremely well in "The Downfall"? How about a set like that incorporated into the Berlin series, maybe you could do a whole diorama around it; just my .02 for what it's worth.............

That would be a great set. If you watch closely you will see that Hitler often takes hold of the ear of the HJ. That was something that Napoleon did with his soldiers. Hitler was no doubt mimicking that mannerism.

Right- I think there is that one picture that shows Hitler giving the "Heil" near the end of the war there and that was what Andy was recreating. It could be done just gotta find some HJ figs.

I was watching a UK Gold repeat of "On the Buses" the other day.
WSS 35 looks just like Blakey :D

James, you are right - that is scary! 'Watch it Butler!':eek::eek:

I am not that keen on the personalities but did buy the Hitler figure in the WS series. I also bought him in his six wheeler, cheap on ebay - meant him to be para fodder but never even got him out of the box!

I don't buy LAH as a rule but the sad truth is the uniforms - rather than what they stand for - do look good for parade bashing. Oh, forgot I did buy the two drum horse because it was a good piece and the Wehrmacht cavalry officer in dress uniform for the same reason to keep the cavalry company.

I would not personally want more Hitler or any of them - I don't really want allied brass either - even Monty - prefer soldiers not actors.

There were many raging lunatic butchers throughout history and now represented in miniature.

Some people exclude Hitler because he is fresher in our collective memory. I say, if you collect figures and you want personalities, just get a few other psycopathic historical figures to balance out the one.

Say, does anyone make a good Caligula?

Lately I saw a lot of posts from the members towards K&C demanding new sets representing the final days of the Reich, Fall of Berlin. Don’t forget to ask for the Russians too.

We get there!

Keeping on going:

Guys

From our perspective the WSS35 and LAH 44 are one of our biggest seller and recently with the new Eagle and podium for the LAH range we have sold out of LAH44.

They out sell all other personalities

Please be reminded that this is a sales perspective not a persoanl perspective

I posted this pic of the new Andrea Hitler figure on another thread. Quite a life like appearance:

The Nazis were evil, Hitler was evil, this can't be denied. IF you chose not to include him in your collection then that is your choice but IMHO how can a WW2 collection of any type not include him in some way. After all, this madman caused and started the war. I am not praising ole bubble head but only making a point.
