Three more WWII dios (1 Viewer)

Since I had some of my stuff out, I decided to get out a couple more sets for display. I am hoping to do some larger dios in the future, I just don't have any display bases ready for that. I have a nice assortment of AK and 8th Army sets I hope to display on a larger scale when I can find the time to build a desert base. Until then, this is what I have. I have been exclusively a WWII collector until just the other day I placed an order for some Alamo pieces. I think I might have opened up a can of worms! I know my wife wasn't too excited to hear that. Oh well. What can you do sometimes. I don't know that my budget can withstand any more pressure. Does anyone else have these problems of deciding whether to stay with one theme?

I could easily get into Napoleonic, WWI and Civil War collecting but since I can't afford everything I want in WW2, I don't buy even one piece from those ranges or the floodgates would open.

You have a nice collection. To answer your question about staying with one theme, the K & C Napoleonics are what got me into Toy Soldier collecting 5-6 years ago. And slowly over the years, my collecting expanded like my waistline. I was into AWI, Naps, WWI, WWII, amongst others. When you see how good the figures are in other ranges, it is hard not to take the plunge. I have scaled back to mainly WWII and some WWI.
 
My collecting has always been driven by what I like and that tends to run the gamut of military history:eek:. I never have been able to stay within one theme. I have ancients, crusaders, FIW, British colonial, WW1, WW2. It is a never ending battle for priority and space. A strict budget forces choices on what to buy every month. I believe this is almost universal (budget & choices) within this hobby. Well, back I go to my almost infinite list of "must haves" and matching it to my very small bank account.:( -- lancer
 
Nice dioramas, sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who really likes that Panther. I sympathize with your issues of sticking to one area of collecting. Its the age old adage, jack of all trades, master of none versus being a specialist. :eek: I predominantly stick to WWII, especially Arnhem, D-Day and a little Bulge. Unfortunately I don't have the will to resist other eras but fortunately I am disciplined enough to only get a figure here and there. Certainly not enough for a thorough display or diorama. They are really one offs that I display individually just for interest.

yes i think i hear that you mention treefrogtreasures so that is why i say it must be from a forum member.
