Gentle fiends, It is a sad day for the law enforcement family here in CA. Three police officers were killed in the performance of their duties and several more injured some critically. The details have made national attention so I will not go into them here. What disturbs me the most is the attitudes/culture of some of the residents of that city. Bystanders saying things like the cops had it coming . Garbage like that. These people (if one can call them that) are not deserving of their police force. I would like to see them survive without them. I come from a family of cops. My Dad, uncle and cousin, sergeants and lieutenants all. I went to the academy for awhile myself. My girlfriend is an ex-cop. I know cops. Some good a few bad but all Angels in blue. Please remember them in your prayers tonight.

I,m sure Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will have a protest march on this, they won't be found.

Violence may not solve issues but it does end it for some. My prayers are for the cops and their families. Jesus tells us tht we should pray for the killer as well. That is why we revere Christ and Buddha and men like Ghandi. They were better men than I am. I have too many tears for the cops.:(
 
I'm not as forgiving as Jesus, so I'm only praying for the officers and their families, unless you count praying that the perps get theirs . . .

Not to worry the perp whilst hiding in a closet fired on several other officers through the door. Cops returned fire...... there will be no trial.
 
Its always a tragedy when anyone dies in the service of his fellow man!:(
 
I was trying to wrap myself around how this guy killed so many experienced officers. AK47 to quote "the preferred weapon of our enemy." His sister said he was frustrated at not being able to find a job. No kidding with a criminal record???? It is hard enough for people without a criminal past to find work. Then his sister said he was not a monster. Sorry lady, Monsters kill cops when they can not find work because of their criminal history. I am not being very sympathetic am I?
 
No, you're not, KV, we all know that no one is responsible for his own actions, whatever position you find yourself in, it's everyone else's fault but your own.

You shoud be more sympathetic.

Of course, I'm being sarcastic, and not at you, KV! It's directed at all of those who would sympathize with monsters like that clown. It drives me absolutely nuts, and I ask myself, why do I try to play by the rules? I should do whatever I want, regardless of the effects on anyone else, and when called to account, blame everyone but myself.

This is where we are in 2009...

Society is to blame, ever since we stopped spanking our children.

Please note I said "spank" not beat to death.
 
Well, all children are born innocient, they are molded by their parents into

the people they will become. I have had a few friends that tell me "I can't do

anything with him" when the child is 16 or 17. It is a little late at that point

to decide to become a parent. Respect, and a loving relationship is what is

needed from day one, so the child can grow into a productive adult.

There are no bad children, without bad parents.

On the AK47 front, it is very difficult to deal with high velocity long guns at

close range. Most vests, and vehicles offer little protection from these

weapons. That is why most departments have SWAT (special weapons and

tactics) units to deal with this type situation when they can be deployed in

time.

There were two situations the FBI case in Florida with the two bank robbers,

and the bank robbers wearing body armor in California that showed the need

for specialized units.

Police officers never know what they are going to face on a daily basis, and

it is certainly a difficult job.
 
I was watching some news cast about the shooting and the spokesperson, I believe he was the Assistat Chief of Police, made the statement referring to the shooting death of the suspect "the officers fired as they were in fear of their lives", DAH!
And the reason he said that I,m sure is someone would question why this a-----e had to be killed.
They also interviewed the mayor of Oakland, who made the proper response, but wasn,t he from one of those black radical groups from the sixties? I believe his name is Delums or something like that.

On the money...Being a convicted felon, why was he allowed to have a machine gun automatic assault battle killer long-range high velocity russian piece of crap?

In the fire service we are mourning the slaying of our brother's in blue. These were officers just doing their jobs. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Oakland PD.

Thank your local Law enforcement official for the jobs they do. They don't get enough respect

Words cannot express the sadness that everyone in Blue is feeling at this time. My condolences to their families and friends, rest in peace Brothers.
 
I am a conservative, but having said that, it has become far too easy for just anyone ,to get these type of weapons..The 2nd amendment probably never intended that this class of scum, being identified as citizens.......Also ,the right to bear arms was never interpeted to be a licence for pre-meditated murder. Michael

To clarify my sometimes dark sarcastic humor, finely tuned over many crime scenes, murders and DB's, AS A CONVICTED FELON, HE'S NOT ALLOWED TO POSSESS ANY FIREARM, THEREFORE HE SHOULD BE TRIED POSTHUMOUSLY FOR THAT AS WELL, AND FAMILY/ESTATE MADE TO PAY.
