Tiberius Claudius Maximus, was the Roman Cavalry trooper who brought back to the Emperor Trajan the head of Decebalus.
Here's my version of the scene, when catching up with the fleeing Dacian King, the Romans try to seize him alive, but in the moments it takes to get through bodyguards last defence Decebalus takes his own life.

Great diorama, very realistic IMO. Excellent photos! Decebalus is highly revered in Romania today as a national hero; like Vercingetorix is in France and Arminius is in Germany. A giant image of Decebalus is carved into a rock face 90 feet tall at the entrance to the Iron Gates gorge on the Danube river where it enters Romania. Decebalus ambushed and destroyed two Roman Legions as they marched along the gorge to invade Dacia in 86 AD under the command of Cornelius Fuscus who died in the battle.

Hi Steve

your diorama has been outstanding! Actually, all this fighting is historically accurate! As I've already said, the little details make a big difference...That has happened in this case: those little things help to make it work, make it real. The picture quality is very high! Once again, well done!

Cheers

P.s: I love historical fiction! :)
