Ticonderoga, 42nd Grenadiers (1 Viewer)

Hi guys,

Boxing Day was a quiet time, so I got time to finish off my latest resin master from John, the kneeling firing Grenadier.

I've posed him with the other 2 figures, so I'll be looking forwa rd in the New year to see these guys released to compliment the other Highlanders from the Black Watch.

Great little group of figures, and very nicely painted by John. Looking forward to their official release from JJD.

Beautiful job, John. Love the kilts and patent leather. -- Al

Hi John, those look really great. That kneeling one turn out nice. It will be interesting to see John's version.

Just found this thread - after a tip off from Walt.

Nice painting, Obee! Nice to see your figures again too, Walt.

I just finished the kneeling indian with bow from the St Francis series. Now I need to get moving on the 42nd. A painter's work is never done!

John...he turned out as beautiful as the others...you do such very nice work...so artistic...

Obee..........
Beautifull paint job on those Highlanders. There seems to
be something special about those Highlanders in the Bear Skin Hats.
Cant wait till they come out. Thanks for posting pictures.

One interesting bit of information I came across in Frederick B Richards' "Black Watch at Ticonderoga" - which you can download for free if you have an e-book - is that the Royal designation for the Black Watch was approved prior to their efforts at Ticonderoga becoming known. In otherwords, it wasn't a result of that battle, as many sources indicate, that led to the designation and change from buff to blue.
