Recently acquired my second ww2 k&c model...Wittmann's first Tiger. Was blown away by it! The size and detail. I don't know a lot about Tiger's so watched a video tour of Tiger 131 and was blown away how much accuracy was captured in the sculpt--the shaving off of the right side of the mantle(?) was a delight to note! And also the closing hatches!! I didn't expect that so it was a nice surprise.
Unfortunately there is a problem with my model and I'd be grateful if anyone has and suggestions or advice. The turret only cleanly rotates from 2 o'clock to 8 o'clock anti clockwise. I noticed it was snagging at 2o'clock shortly after unpacking it but (silly me) I didn't investigate--was mostly displaying the turret forward. Sod's law that the day after the returns policy expired I realised that the turret can't be displayed between the remaining 180° without riding up on one side by as much as 1 centimetre. When I unpacked the model it had white flakes (drill cuttings I think) all over the hull. I assumed something had shattered but once I dusted off the flakes there was no noticeable damage. The rod in the turret looks square, and after removing more white flakes from the hole it inserts into, it seems neat and square to the eye. I'm not very technically minded but clearly something is off, and I'm very cautious to start bending or drilling anything. Any ideas?
