My WS 67 tiger has 7 outside wheels in a row, counting the two (sprocket?) wheels on each end.
The WS 70 has 4 wheels outside, and 4 inside. The 4 inside are placed behind the gaps that are between the outside wheels. There is a an inset sprocket wheel at each end.
Does anybody have an explanation for the different wheel treatment?

The WS67 King Tiger is not a succession of the WS70 Tiger 1, but a completely different tank. The King Tiger weight ~17 tons more.

In addition, I think Tiger 1 had mud retention issues and the inside wheels were hard to change in the field.

Thanks. That explains it. The 2 tanks are different in appearance in several other ways. Bill
