Thinking of adding to it or doing another one...takes he-ape's of plasticine but that is very cheap and re-useable....used the plasticine from a castle I made....I love the ruin Abbie's...I have always marveled at how they were built...TomB

I have 3 churches Tom, one of which was made for my old collection of 1/18, whilst a little large, the beauty about it I can simply say it's a Cathedral. I have just purchased some pews in preparation for a new diorama from Playmobil. The Conte church is my pride and joy and most treasured building. Always like looking at these buildings, seen some I like, but they are in 1/72 scale. For me if I had your skill I would make one and try to make it permanent by coating it in something solid and also paint it. This is a whole other hobby going on here for you, the sky is the limit. Well done, cheers, Robin.

Rob...If you lived in Perth I could probably do a ruined church/Abbey for you, no sweat,,Perth is a lousy place to live regards getting anything...bloody place is useless....I have just been down to what passes as a hobby shop to pickup some resin which I have waited weeks for....I have long thought about trying to do an Abbey in resin...so I think I will give it a go.....will do a simple section first as a trail run......TomB....PS......could never duplicate the wall thickness...cost a fortune.....

Tom this is a photo of 1983 diorama in 1/35 which inspired me at the time, but eluded me than because it was impossible for me to duplicate other than to buy the figures and gun. As they needed to be assembled and painted, both of which I was fairly hopeless at and the building was scratch built, I never thought I could ever have something similar. These days anything is possible. Cheers, Robin.

Great pic of church and gun crew....88 ? really terrific dio of church......Have had a go at the resin bit....turned out a bit rough..but..thats good...it looks old..so was worth stuffing it up...anything flat and straight wont be a problem...its the curvy , round bits that are hard....I am using the plasticine model as a basic model...hope to improve on it....tossed in figs for size...they are a correct 54mm...probably should have worked on a 60mm fig size....I hope to get the nack of things as I go along...not very cost efficient...model in sculpey...cast in resin....actually..the sculprey is just as strong as resin...done correctly...anyway...I am trying something different and having a ball...if it dont work..stiff.....I will have had a go.....Tom.... PS could maybe add a statue or two

You sculpt that stuff well, just need to freeze it and paint it and you never need to buy another diorama accessory ever again. Very clever, cheers, Robin.

Interesting build. Do you ever think of using air dry clay?
