Hi All. Tim Kubicek head of the W. Britains US office has graciously agreed to occasionally field Britains questions for us here on the Britains forum. He was gone from this position for about a year and a half but he's back now and brings great new ideas and enthusiasm along with him.

Hi Tim,

Just a quick question. Will Britains ever make a Color Party for any of the Gurkha Regiments? They made some really great pieces in recent years but I feel this is an area that has been neglected. Thanks

Dave

DMNamiot--

Thanks for the question.

The Gurkha Colour Party is not in our 2006 plans but are on our list for future ideas.

We always like to hear about new ideas and I will be checking this board regularly.

Tim

Hi Tim thanks for the info for the future, I look forward to those sets. I do quite a bit of reading on Tank warfare and have recently finished a rather good book on the Tank Warfare in Burma. Some very interesting unit were involved British and Indian as well as the Japanese. So my question is will Britains consider doing a Japanese Tank such as the Type 95,96, or 97. These would pair up rather nicely with the Japanese Infantry you are currently producing and other manufacturers as well. It would be great the see a Stuart produced in the markings of the Indian 7th Light Cavalry or a Sherman from the Royal Deccan Horse or Probyn's Horse or a Lee from the 3rd Carabiniers. Just some thoughts for you to chew on from a really interesting Theater of Operations that has been totally neglected for a long time. Thanks for the forum to voice an opinion.
Dave

Hi Tim! Quick question... you probally get is all the time...Any plans for WWII Aircraft? :)

Thanks.

- Jeff

Tim-

Any idea when Britains will have the photos for the new civil war figures.

Thx,
JRK

Hi Tim,

I am a member of the Britains collectors club and I have to ask you a question. When will the web site get updated? It still has Lynns picture on it and the information is sort of out of date. It would also be great if there were some links to sources for research and information on past Britains sets. Right now the site is good for purchasing sets from the club but thats about all. Please update it.

Dave Namiot

G'Day from a devoted Britains fan in Australia.

Thanks for letting us have a say and I hope that we can influence future sets.

Can we have some more Australians and NZ. I have the original sets made in the late 40s and 50s of Australian Infantry (2030, 2031, 1544 (1930s).
Its about time Britains brought out some Aussies to reflect that we "colonials" collected and still collect as well.

Also, bring back Royal Marine marching figure with .303 rifle or SLR at the slope marching - this would go well with your original pre 1966 figures.

Also bring back the Gunners (Sets 313 & 1730 - 1930s and 40s) so we can have crew to go with our guns.

Thanks

Bucko

Hello Everyone --

Here are some answers to your questions:

DMNamiot--
1. There are no plans for the WWII Pacific Theater but are looking at possibilities for 2007
2. Agree our web site needs more attention and updating. The UK office handles the web site and I'll contact them

jtbrisk -- No plans for WWII Aircraft but interested in know which types you are interested in seeing.

JRK-- Photos are available for all Civil War figures except for the #17575/76 Desperate Valor sets.

Buckomp-- No plans at this time for more Australians or NZ. I personally like the idea of Royal Marine marching figures and will pass this information along.

To All -- We are publishing a book that will feature all Matt finished figure from 1999 to 2005. Should be available in October this year. Will have a check list of all Gloss figures from that time period. Check with your favorite dealer.

Keep questions comming!

Tim

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the answers and I will keep the questions coming. I am also going to be on the look out for the book you mentioned. Thanks again and I will of course write if I have another question for you.

Dave

Re: New Britains book

Well, now that Tim has formally announced the new book it is fair game on the forum. I think this will be a great resource for people wondering what other sets are in the series they are collecting, when the line was first released, etc. The book will primarily focus on the matte lines (WWII, Civil War, American Rev. War, Napoleonic, GI Joe and Americana--I think I named them all) but there will be a checklist for the glossy offerings as well. I believe it will be soft cover and reasonably priced at under $15.

Re: New Britains book

Hi Shannon,

I know books are not in your line but will you be selling them? If so please put me down for one. Thanks for the great site!

Dave

Thankyou for taking the time and care to answer the questions, kind regards,

Hi Tim,
Any new American Revolution figures in the works?

Also how about some figures from the French and Indian War?
