It's time for the new catalogue of britains summer 2016.
it's been a while since that new models were offered.

I'll second that ! Doubt we'll get it until August or September though. But there's always hope !

Ordered a couple of club figures a few weeks ago on line with Britain's and they arrived last week, so things are happening. Much more confident now that the free May expected figure, now touted to arrive in July, is going to happen. Robin.

Agreed, things are starting to move forward. There will be some catch up for a period but things are starting to happen. Chris

Were they 2016 figures?

Lets hope it's early July. The 44th foot figures are needed for my next display !

Hi all,
19 new figures and the WWII German Schwimmwagen just arrived at your favorite dealers. The next issue of the Standard and the new catalog will go to the printers at the end of next week, so we will start sending the summer packets out as soon as they return.
There are plenty of new items in production for delivery in late Summer and the club figures are due to arrive at the end of this month.
I think many of you will like what we are doing and will be happy to see the new additions to our collections.
More soon.
All the best,
Ken

Ken, appreciate the update, looking forward to things getting back to normal operationally and of course the new direction of WB. Glad to see that some of the new ACW figures from the last catalog will be available very soon. Look forward to the next Standard and Catalog. Hopefully there will be a couple of new ACW figures in it. You talked about a new format for the catalog, will that be in this one or the next one? Chris

This guy is thinking that Britains need to release more Naps !

I hope WB can roll out some ACW products that have been promised for it seems like 2 1/2 years. For example supposedly an ACW Union horse holder grasping his mount and three other horses: a classic rendition of how ACW cavalry actually deployed as sharp shooters in dismounted encounters. Three troopers dismounting to attack or defend with their long arms and the fourth trooper held back to hold the horses. It is simple, it's basic and at least we can rely on WB to depict troops as they were deployed in this conflict with accurate renditions in the look and portrayal. Seems like an absolute chore but there is not one manufacturer of 54mm to 60mm figurines who can grasp this simple concept. Every time we see ACW Union cavalry depicted we see manufacturers who tell the painters to paint a yellow stripe down the trousers of the enlisted troops and every time one of the good students of the conflict tells them not to do this and they do it anyway. At least WB does not commit this rudimentary mistake. Perhaps the anticipated rollout of the horse holder(s) will occur this quarter. I doubt it but never hurts to ask. While they are at it maybe some Confederate Cavalry in mounted or dismounted forms as well. Talk about a totally ignored subject. For the record the ACW was fought on the ground by three branches: infantry, artillery and cavalry.

Totally agree, even if we just get horse holders only for the Federal and Confederate side, they could be used for a number of scenarios such as war councils and meetings with officers. Hopefully we will see something in the new catalog for ACW fans. Not much has been previewed yet but seems like WB is getting things moving so maybe it will not be long. Would love to see a limber or caisson as well for both sides. Chris

Things were getting a bit sticky waiting for the reinforcements !

Steve, that is just a great picture of a square. You definitely need more men. Chris

Some nice conversions of ACW figures on the facebook page and some horses although no indication to what series these are for ?!

Someone who knows their saddles will be able to figure it out I'd guess !

Nice FIW photo on Britains Homepage too.

Steve, I made a comment on the WB page about the horses and Ken answered back that the horses in the back ground will be ACW related and that we will see more in the next few weeks. Looking at the horse equipment, the saddles look to be 1859 McClellan style with the noticeable strap slots and brass on the rear of the saddle seat as well as stirrup skirts and other details. At least one looks to be made for a mounted officer. There is a second photo showing 2 figures mounted on them and one looks to be a definite officer. Hopefully there are other pieces to this puzzle yet to come. A Limber and horse holders perhaps. Chris
