Titanic Aftermath (1 Viewer)

Sad and very grim , but you don't often hear of the horror of the aftermath. Interesting article. Saw a docu on tv from a couple of years back just the other week that put forward the idea that a bunker fire in the engine room that was already burning fiercely when she left Southampton, weakened the outer steel of the ship where the iceberg hit. It put forward the familiar ' hushed up ' theory that although the fire was out of control in her coal bunkers at Southampton, nobody wanted to lose all that money by cancelling her sailing. Don't know if this is true or not, but there is a previously unseen photo of her with a dark scar ( during time of fire) in the area where the iceberg would later hit.

The many pairs of shoes still to this day on the ocean floor where body's sank to the bottom is so sad and moving. God bless all who passed in that awful event exactly 100 years ago last night.
