TM Terrain winter ruins (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

Received my TM Terrain winter ruins from David this week and as always I think he did a great job in what I was looking for, more of a basic ruins then a large diorama but still gives me room to change things up a bit here and there, next week I'll have my First Legion Winter IV to go along with this diorama so I'll post a few photos as some as I can...Sammy

Very nice, can see you putting this to really good use. Chris

I agree, great diorama, great figures and tank. But the Dept. 56 birch has to go.

NOOOOOOOOO ...I like my Birch trees, ^&grin actually looking to get some J.G. Minature winter trees to add and kill the 56th ones.

Excellent Winter dio, very realistic. The ruined structure really sets it off. Robin.

Sammy...

Dave does great work...

I love this piece...

Thanks Mike, indeed Dave is the man, besides being a great creator of dioramas he has a ton of ideas when discussing projects about the hobby itself, and his humble attitude towards creating dioramas is refreshing and funny at times, one time we were on the phone discussing something about a large project he was doing and I was like how do you do that, his reply.."oh Sammy just use some bits/bobs and a few pieces of this and that and there you go!!" :) got to love that guy!!!

As far as this small diorama like Andanna suggested I'm going to get rid of the Birch add a few of J.G Minatures winter trees, add the First Legion Winter IV next week, and at some point hoping First Legion will do a Winter Halftrack, either way there is plenty room to add to this piece...Sammy

I takes one to recognize one. :)

I am using the more simplified trees from Dept. 56 and Lemax for dioramas with a more abstract environment myself. For realistic dioramas, like yours, I am also using JG or those from a Polish diorama maker, Robert.

The detail in which David adds always surprises me such as the different wall paper in the opposite rooms on the 1st floor, the exposed plaster on the walls that tie in with the brick, even the broken window wood frames! they are all small detail but that's some of the things I like to see in a diorama, I always seem to go back and find something I missed earlier...Sammy

Congratulations on the arrival of your latest of David's works, it's just fantastic and the more you look the more you see. Just Brilliant :salute:::salute:::salute:: regards Gebhard

Great addition Sammy. Once again another well thought out piece with a lot of nice detail in it. You really have some terrific pieces of work from David.

Thanks to all for the nice comments, next stop with David for me is an addition to my Normandy diorama to build up the German sector likely sometime in September/October...Sammy

Looks awesome Sam, TM Terrain have done a great job on the ruined building.

Tom

Nice to see TMTerrain superb items along FL stuff, thanks for posting!
But in my opinion that ruined building was made to display with no snowed figures, doest it? Love it anyway.

Thanks Chemiebay, agree TM Terrain product goes hand in hand with First legion, as far as the snow figures I used a few winter figures in the scene along side a few Stalingrad sets, being the 2 Generals are in long heavy coats I think they looked the part for the scene, the window sniper also in my opinion looks fine, but I do hope that First Legion will do another round of Winter Germans at some point in the future...Sammy
