All,

No boo whoing here, but dayum I just can't win! It started in (#1) March with a blown out knee, that turned into a torn miniscus...concrete accident. Then in (#2) July I blew out my left middle finger (the nail) in another concrete accident...took 4 months for the purple to grow out. This past (#3) October, I cracked a right rib trying to set up wiring for our TV...don't ask it is a loong story involved me balancing my body on a two by four. Then, (#4) New Years Eve I fell off a 8 foot ladder in my new crib and fractured a vertebrae in my back...again don't ask, but yes THIS New Years Eve! All in all, the concrete won, the two by four won and the ladder is just fine.

So, I am all injured out this year and have to wear a back brace for weeks now. I will miss all of next weeks work week and frankly I am glad I am not paralyzed...cause thats what it felt like at first. I thank my lucky stars brother.

SO, TO A BETTER YEAR MY FRIENDS!!!

Hope you have a fast recovery, John. Sometimes years just go like that so maybe 2016 will be a stellar one for you. Just remember, as we get older, gravity can be our enemy, especially around ladders. -- Al

Glad to hear you are recovering John. Hints for 2016 stay off the ladders and keep away from the concrete work. :wink2: Best wishes for a good 2016! Chris

I reckon you should give the handyman thing a miss John and I hope there wasn't any black cats around that ladder! Take it easy mate, we need your humour and good posts on here!

Ha! No there were no black cats around, just me and my phat *** trying to dust a HVAC vent some 15 feet in the air. There is a betting pool at my shop to see if I am lying about standing on the very tippy top of the ladder. Which I was not! I was stepping on the skinniest step before you get to the flat top of the ladder and as I put weight on it the wiggling started and BOOM it was over in an instant. I fell, sheet rock busted and the ladder was unscathed.

So, I stopped by my shop yesterday after a Dr's appt (at the insistence of my wife) and the first thing they did was measure my arm. I was like "what the hell", then she told me the guys are doing the math with the ladder, the wall, the vent and making BETS to see if I am lying about standing on the tippy top of the ladder. Good lord...
