The Lines I collect from FL ,Crusaders and Romans work well with some of the other Toy Soldier companys out there. My Crusader "Siege of Acre 1191" Diorama I have FL and K&C and also a Conte catapult ,and it works for me.I think the trick is keeping the FL figures together and the same with K&C figures when they are in battle with each. For some reason Matt, which helped me, scaled the FL Crusaders pretty close to the K&C line of Crusaders, in my opinion any way.Its seems to me that the FL figures are a higher detailed shaded painted figure, where the K&C is a more brightly painted figure. As for the FL Romans they go great size wise with the CS Romans and also Contes Romans. That will help me greatly when I do a large Roman vs Barbarian Diorama in the future, but they do not match up well with the K&C Romans which are larger that I have in my Collection.Thats just my point of view, not intended to slight any one.As you can tell I enjoy Ancient figures and wish Matt would do more different lines of them, such as Alexander the Great vs Persains,Greeks vs Greeks, even the War of Troy, especially the way Matt creates his figures.First time blogger here,Hope I didn't offend anyone. Here are a few pictures of my Crusader diorama,so that you can view the mixing of the figures.I think I'm getting a blister on my finger from all this typing.

Hey folks,
I am new to this forum, but have been collecting for several years now. Mostly WW2, European Theater stuff, but also have some Crimean War and Napoleonic War stuff as well.

As for mixing and matching, I mix and match TGM, K&C and Figarti vehicles. Have never liked the way CS figures and vehicles match, or Figarti figures. That does kill me since I wish their were more Sd Kfz 251s out their for Panzergrenadiers.

Like others, I don't really think the First Legion stuff goes well with the manufacturers above, but have displayed some of the K&C grey troops and some W Britain grey troops with my First Legion Stalingrad soldiers.

I am looking to augment my FL 232 8-rad with two of the Revell/Monogram 1/32 232 model sets (although I will build one as a 231.) Will report back on how this goes.

I also have a couple of the Sd Kfz 250 halftracks from HJB's Arnhem Assault line that I am mixing in with the 232 8-rad to create a diorama of the first recce troops from the 24th Panzer Division to hit the Volga. Plan to call it, "Road to Hell!"

As others have said, I have been looking into (and what drew me to the forum) augmenting my FL stuff with FoV and 21st Century Toys. I have a couple of old 251s from 21st Century (unfortunately they are Ds so don't really belong in the summer of 1942) and a Sd Kfz 222 from them as well. It is currently detailed for the Polish campaign, but that should be easy to fix.

Just my two cents. I love it all and would have 2 to 3 dioramas per room if I could, and each room a different theme. Doubt the fiancee will go for that, though.

She is not likely to go for that{sm4}....I speak from experience^&grin

Hello, long time forum lurker but infrequent poster.

Regarding the debate over height, chunk-factor, colour, shading and so on. I don't mix just because I like my K&C (Crimea & Bulge), Conte (Zulu) and JJD (Sudan & Jacobite) to be just that.

I may just have OCD......or should that be CDO, in alphabetical order?
