Look what I found in the latest edition of Toy Soldier Collector.....What do you guys think? Please forgive the poor picture quality it's not a reflection of the sculpting or painting but that of the photographer taking pictures from a magazine under poor lighting and shaky hand.

Apparently Collector Showcase has taken the advice of the many collectors out there and have reduced the size of this edition to 60mm. This is a good thing and a marked improvement of the sets I saw in the last Chicago show.

The article goes into some depth of his computer generated techniques of manufacturing and indicates that there will be new ACW figures to be released in the future. There weren't any ACW pictures offered in the articles.

The faces seemed to have more color in them compared to there initial Normandy releases. IMO, that is a good thing despite the bleak look they have.

I'm very interested in seeing them at the Westcoaster (yes, they will be there) in a few weeks and will buy them if I like them.

Request to Mr. Levy (Owner), please make yourself available to collectors prior to the show on Sunday let the other manufacturers do. Since this show has room trading days prior to the show it would be to your advantage to open up your room and make yourself available to collectors.

There isn't a need for you to sell out of your room, but perhaps you could display your releases and talk about your company much like King and Country, Britians and the rest do.

Thanks,

Carlos

Wow! Into the fray! Great action, I hope the size is right. any idea price wise and I take it there metal?

That motorcycle pose looks very similar to the upcoming KC release - which oddly enough looked like a previous St. Petersburg item.

Ray,

I assume they're metal. There Normandy sets are. The Toy Soldier Collector magazine didn't indicate any prices and the Tobruk 1942 series hasn't been posted on there website yet.

I'll try to contain my excitement a bit until I see them in person next month. However, the repaint possibilities are endless depending on there pricing policy.

Everything looks good but I still don't like the faces. However, the vehicles look good. That officer with the white tunic looks a bit out of place.

The guys in the tank and kettenkrad looked like their vehicules are going at 100 mph:eek:

Pierre.

I like their expressions, not to many people remain composed in stressful situations and it always shows on their face. I am very disturbed to here another company is doing ACW. I will be filing bankrupcy for sure. Do they take away your toy soldiers if you file Chapter 11?

Chapter 11 is for companies and Chapter 13 for individuals. In Chapter 11, you get a certain exemption. In Chapter 13, I'm not sure.

I was watching the Military Channel last week and saw some original Afrika Korps footage shot in color and it showed Rommel in a sunbleached, almost white tunic wearing gray continental uniform trousers so this figure looks to be accurate.

Rommel was in North Africa for two years so I'm sure he was photographed in a variety of shaded and bleached uniforms.

Semper Fi!
