a similar background to Kevin Pieterson and Trott.
Born in South Africa
RIP

Like Pieterson, who has always seen himself as English (apparently), I think Greig saw himself as a Brit first and South African second.

It shows his determination to have a Test career despite epilepsy.

I only got into cricket following the raza-mataz that WSC spawned. So without Tony, Packer and the others I might never have got involved in a sport that's given me 30 great years of entertainment and the friends I will have for life. In that time, Tony and the rest of the Commentary Team have been part of my life. There were times that I got tired of their cliches but for the most part they've been solid and did the job. Ian Chappell wrote a nice piece today, amongst other things acknowleding that he'd principally been at fault when they're relationship started poorly. Anyway, the first of the Four Horseman of Summer has gone.

Well played Tony.
