Too late I don't think so : The French resistance guy is a dog whisperer and an olympic swimmer. The dog will attack the Germans and the French guy will jump into the water and swimm to freedom.
"Vive La France" could also mean : one more push on the detonator and the tower explodes , Germans and French resistance guy exterminated.
