Head wounds.

The new Prussian grouping has 17 possible items with a total of 18 figures. Out of this total no less than four have head wounds. While wounds can make for an interesting figure, I would like to see a figure with a bare head without a wound. Soldiers might have lost their shakos in the confusion of battle without suffering a wound.

Plus it makes buying multiples harder. I really like the figure in the forage cap, NAP0158. It would be super as a multiple, but everyone would have a head wound. I will most likely still buy several and just not look too closely.

My request would be to go easy on the number of head wounds in the future. Please continue to give us a variety of headwear. Just try to make the new heads something that is still standard issue. A good example is the French troops, some have the regular shako and some have theirs’ covered, both look great in multiples right beside each other. Have them be different, but not too unique.

Noted and fair enough. Though, remember, the Prussians did just fight a pounding battle at Ligny only 2 days before... Believe it or not, we actually do take such factors into consideration when we're designing our figures.

You are of course right about the Prussians having just fought the battle of Ligny. My comments are in no way meant to take away from your beautiful figures. They would indeed have suffered some wounds. I appreciate the fact that you have offered both the uncovered and covered Prussian shakos.

In my opinion First Legion has already set the standard for defensive groups with the British Guards, which can only are now be matched by the new Old Guard Chasseurs grouping. I cannot think of any time before that a company has offered so many different actions poses that work so well together to show a single act. I can hardly wait for these to be released.

I certainly agree with your observations mate. Of course, it is just possible the British Guards could attack. We shall see perhaps.

Actually, that is one of the reasons I like First Legion. They give you so many troops with similiar uniforms, but not exactly the same. The usual release for a First Legion infantry series is from about 17 to well over 20. Several of these troops have more generic poses and can be used as repeat buys, but the rest have something unique that will stand out if you use them in a formation.

However, there are enough unique and repeateable figures to create large formations of about 35+ or so, which is plenty enough. I think the wounds, mutted dirty colors, and different headgear give the formations a gritty very realistic look which I really like. Putting a first Legion formation together makes an impressive sight!

K&C, which I also like, goes a different route. They use mostly perfect uniforms that all match exactly together. They are very colorful and look great together in formations too. Much more formal and less realistic than First Legion. I am happy to have the two options. Matt, keep doing what you do best.

After getting my first Guard Chasseurs today, I would have to agree. Between these and the British Guards, I have to say that First Legion is living up to being the best.

Prussians have had 4 corps. 2 battle corps and 2 reserve corps. At Waterloo the two reserve corps was been in the heat of the battle - with elements of the other (nearly destroyed) Ligny-corps.
