Too rich for your blood? (1 Viewer)

Is that a reasoable value? or is it wishful thinking and greed?

I don't think so. The opening bid price of $2,800 works out to about $72 per figure while the "Buy it Now" price is $7,692 per figure! He must be hoping that someone will bid at the opening price and think he stole them at that price compared to the "Buy it Now" price.

Hi Mike,

I may be mathematically challenged, but I cannot arrive at the $7,692 figure you cite. I can easily arrive at the $72 per figure (rounded figure), but I cannot even come close to the larger figure. However, I do arrive at approximately $82 per figure (rounded) for the "Buy It Now" price. From my perspective, the "Buy It Now" cost is roughly $10 per figure higher than the opening bid price. Can you share how you determined the $7,692 figure? Is it possible there is an error in your computations? Or, as I said above, am I just mathematically challenged? ^&grin

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :wink2:

Pat, the seller has changed his buy it now price. When originally listed the buy it now price was $300,000.00. Looks like it was an error and he has since fixed it.

And so he has! That was pretty amusing, even so.

$3200 is a little more reasonable, for the die-hard Lucotte collectors. I'm leaving it bookmarked, to see where it ends up.

Prost!

Hi Scott,

Whew! ^&grin^&grin^&grin Now I fully understand! I know I am mathematically challenged, but I am now reassured my computational disability is not as severe as I feared. :rolleyes2:

Always worth a shot - after all - you only need one customer to say "Yes" - then retire! ^&grin johnnybach

Hi Guys,

After a visit to a shop in Paris that had older ones in as good condition it is a real bargin! I saw one Mounted Napoleon that was selling for 350 Euro but it was from the 1870s according to the owner of the shop, so by comparison this auction is a good deal.

Will be interesting to see if he gets a bid or two.

Dave

Actually that is a ****ed good looking set of vintage toy soldiers. I think that the price is not unreasonable.
