Hi Guys,
An Aussie show called 20 to 1 just did the top 20 Greatest Live acts. Thought you might be interested.
I did predict No 1.
No 1 and 2 were for their Live Aid performances. I would have put Genesis in there somewhere.
Pink is very popular down here as just done 50 shows. Britney currently lip syncing her way through 20 shows here,

20. P!nk (almost Aussie !)
19. Guns N' Roses
18. Jimi Hendrix
17. John Farnham (Aussie)
16. The Beatles
15. Bruce Springsteen
14. Tina Turner
13. Coldplay
12. Elvis Presley
11. ABBA
10. INXS (Aussie)
9. Kylie Minogue (Aussie)
8. The Rolling Stones
7. Robbie Williams
6. AC/DC (Aussie)

Very interestiing Brett, lots of great acts in there but some I would drop and I'd add Led Zep Thin Lizzy and Status Quo (1970's Quo),I'd drop Crowded House and Kylie and John Farnham.

Some wonderful acts in there though, seen many of them including The Stones,Queen,AC/DC,ABBA,U2,Madonna.

Unless you've seen each of these, it's probably hard to come up with a list. Although the lads were probably a great act, the problem is that the fans were screaming so that the Beatles could never be heard. That is one of the reasons why they quite touring. It had just become a bloody nuisance.

I'm kind of favorable to Rush and Simple Minds, both of whom sound(ed) better Live than recorded. Sorry, no Aussie or Yank bands. And Genesis should be in there!

Seen Pink twice over the last couple of years and she is a fantastic performer with all manner of stunts and acrobatics - good value for money.

Also, caught Mark Ronson (Anglo/American) down at the Dome in Brighton and he put on a great show - minus Amy of course!

Biggest let down in recent years was Babyshambles at the Brighton Centre, Pete Doherty looked bored, bloated and none too bothered.

Last year Martha Reeves and the Vandellas did a good gig in a small club on the south coast - fantastic for all the elder aged mods in the audiance, and a few weeks later Toots and the Maytels performed in the same club with middle-aged Rude Boys, Skinheads and Mods dancing the night away :D the dancing was a bit slower, the clothes were all too snug fit now but the same enthusiasim was present.

Todd and Wayne,
Yes I agree with Neil Diamond.
I remember seeing him on TV many years ago doing "Live at the Greek" and was most impressed.
Regards
Brett
