Hi, Redman440, I posted this question to your previous thread, is this show by the same promoters who hold the antique toy show at the beginning of November every year, or is this a new show?

Educated guess is, not necessarily. It looks like an antique toy show, not a toy soldier show.

The fellow who posted hasn't posted back, whether last week, after his original post, or today.

The annual Allentown Antique Toy Show was held a month ago, the first weekend of November; it usually falls on that weekend, and usually coincides with Bill Lango's Hackensack show. There are toy soldier dealers who go to the antique toy show on Saturday, then go up to Hackensack for that show on Sunday.

However, this newly announced antique toy show may be different, as far as we toy soldier collectors are concerned. First, there is no specialty toy soldier show taking place in the region, so there is nothing else to draw toy soldier dealers to the area. Second, this is a brand-new show, as far as we know, especially since the promoter hasn't yet responded with additional information. His post last week included a March date, too. I posted to the thread to ask if it is a new show, or if it's the same outfit who promote the annual show, but-no response.

So, whether there will be anything for us, remains to be seen.

Under the Links page, there are several model railroad clubs listed, and also, there are indications that the promoter or promoters are involved in shows over at the Merchants Square indoor antique mall and flea market, off of Lehigh St. I don't think this is affiliated with the Allentown Antique Toy Show.


You guys can decide for yourselves. Probably not going to be a lot of new toy soldiers, but it will probably be an interesting show to visit, for anyone who lives here in the Valley or close by.
